But how do we protect it from the shadowy elites? Maybe they'll raid the facility, and one brave researcher will give his life helping the unicorn escape, and it'll be found by a plucky young girl who gets bullied in school because she still believes in unicorns, and she'll have to take care of it in secret. Hijinks will ensue when it follows her to school and humiliates the bullies (who can't see it, because they don't believe in it) But the shadowy elites close in while they're at school, and the girl gives an impassioned speech about accepting things you don't understand, and standing up for what you believe in, and the cool kid that the girl crushed on reveals that he believed in unicorns all along and only teased her because he was afraid he'd be made fun of too. Then everyone, including the grouchy teacher work together with the unicorn to fight back against the shadowy elites, and drive them into the light.
And then, in the sequel, a former member of the shadowy elites creates an evil dark copy of the unicorn, and sends it to kill the original, but its not really evil, it just didn't know better, and it learns friendship and falls in love with he original unicorn.
Unfortunately, after this point, they keep making sequels centered on the babies of the unicorns, only now they talk and there's a ridiculous amount of product placement. And I one the sequels, the baby unicorns sing a rap song about saying no to fidget vapes or whatever scary new thing the writers think kids are into these days.
