Passing a law to keep people from dying from easily prevented highly communicable diseases is a step too far over the line of “personal freedoms” for people who are typically forcing this “freedom” on someone else but just a reminder: If you own six sex toys you can be fined $4,000 and spend more hard time in a Texas prison than a truly infuriating number of sexual predators. Because “moral” threats are infinitely greater concerns than tangible physical ones and are much easier to strip out rights over.

Also a lot harder to temporarily bar people from public areas or reserve the right to refuse service and eject them from a private place of business for reasons of health, safety, or public nuisance than overtly bigoted reasons poorly wearing a thin veil of safety and public nuisance.

Yeah, everybody knows Donald and most people know Frederick Trump, but who knows Elizabeth? The woman who actually built the company they both inherited acting as CEO and lead negotiator in practice while her minor son’s name was on the paperwork. The son who coasted on the contracts she made he almost lost but his wife Mary kept smoothing over the trouble. And then the grandson that coasted on that while screwing up in the most incredible imaginable ways while everyone around him kept cleaning up the mess and throwing money at him to help keep the illusion of success. Most notably the only one of Donald’s children who has any real business success is Ivanka. The sons being best known for… nothing. Except maybe Don Jr. acting coked out of his mind and illegally killing protected endangered species and calling it hunting. (To make matters even more infuriating, the endangered species he guns down - you can’t even call it a hunt - tend to be docile herbivores rather than the “big game” of sport hunters who think it proves their masculinity. Literally the only reason he does it is because they are protected species.) And for all that effort the men just took her name right off the business of Elizabeth Trump and Sons and put up gold statues of themselves while shouting down women for having everything handed to them by men.

When a woman’s accomplishments involve a man in any way they become the man’s. She’s not worth praising, she was “given” her accomplishments. But when a man’s accomplishments involve a woman they are still the man’s and the woman isn’t worth mentioning even for the effort of that support it’s just kind of her expected function. It’s sickening.

Jesus, even the article you quote highlights that it hasn’t been effort and impact but rather acclaim (often from themselves) that men monopolize in the context of history. Which men see fit to rewrite every time something threatens their “inherent and obvious” natural merits. Those who have the least to be thanked for demand a constant stream of adulation and for some reason that has made them appear to others to be the ones most worth admiring. In fact that behaviour seems to be the central pull of white supremacy as well: The fact of demanding constant praise and adulation somehow creates an illusion of great merit and when others rise to prove they are equal to the meritless bragging every effort is made to just quietly claim those efforts as the new pedestal to stand on through simple association or proximity simultaneously downplaying or erasing entirely any other hands on the task and vastly overstating or framing the assumption from nothing but the fact it exists in current society that whites are responsible and it’s the new thing to brag about having achieved while others have things “handed” to them.

Race on the scale of values is taking 1kg of steel and 1kg of feathers and slamming your fist down on one end saying one is heavier than the other, confiscating both, then sending an additional bill for use of your scale. Then weighing them both again later and saying it’s patently obvious they are the same, because now they’re both yours. And they always have been according to your ledger. Which lists them both as 1.1kg. And any discrepancies when checking later is “proof” of being stolen from. Or honestly? Rather than two different substances a 1kg ingot of steel and another identical 1kg ingot of steel. Not even walking in this case. For the second time they’re hooking up a woman who has already died of natural causes to machines and are expecting something living to emerge from the corpse. And for a second time what’s “growing” is more cyst than fetus because even if cells are still multiplying as stem cells do - that’s how stem cell research proceeds, they don’t harvest fetuses there are exactly two stem cell lines being farmed in the US because of the ban on gathering new material and I expect they’ll shut even that down - the biological components that actually guide the growth into specific structures are dead. If the machine is doing the growing anyways and they’ve already floated the medically impossible insanity of trying to harvest and re-implant ectopic pregnancies I don’t understand why they don’t let the poor woman rest in peace and try to incubate the fetus in an actual machine instead of once again desecrating the dead to an already known outcome. I’d be in utter disbelief if that wasn’t the case. Authoritarians can’t deliver on their backhanded promises of order and safety, their very practices and the fear they rely on to control the population are exactly what creates an environment that allows the lawless to thrive and even act with more impunity than a supposedly “soft” or “weak” governance would ever allow. Even in a completely lawless land a criminal would have to worry about the reprisal of those willing to defend themselves. In the grips of a tyrant authority being a victim becomes the crime especially if you take matters into your own hands, for the truth of an uncontrolled criminal element is embarrassing to an authority that demands the appearance of total power and control. It’s unspoken that the crime that does happen is a mere cover, and that’s a bit of doublethink they’ll kill to keep in place. Their only recourse is to convince the population that the danger is something that sneaks in from the outside, something that can be easily identified in the form of an outgroup and purged.

While she allowed Flores-Ruiz to leave through a back door as not to turn her courtroom into a public spectacle that back door simply lead right into the public area where she knew ICE was waiting and had the right to take him away without it disrupting the function or decorum of the court. ICE deliberately LET Flores-Ruiz walk outside after SHARING AN ELEVATOR with one of their agents who could simply have taken him into custody there to create a spectacle by running after him in a very threatening swarm to be spun into the narrative it is now. The whole thing is PREMEDITATED theatre on ICE’s part and their grievances afterwards wholly invented for even more insidious reasons than I first assumed. It isn’t even revenge at being inconvenienced the whole point was to arrange a spectacle to demonstrate that courts DO NOT hold any power and WILL NOT be respected in any way. A threat I’m pretty sure was aimed at the courts that might eventually try Trump even more than immigrants seeking the protection of the law.

Do they know that these judges were simply refusing to let these people be taken away from their own trials - you know, the thing that legally determines guilt or innocence of a charge - before they were over and would have just given them up after at least the facade of due process was satisfied? But ICE was adamant about absolutely refusing to allow the court to proceed. The entire point was to thumb their noses at the rule of law and prevent any possible acknowledgement of innocence. That there was NO legal ground to deport let alone summarily sentence them to a foreign prison where they are fully intended to die.

…Actually nevermind. Knowing the truth has never had any bearing on what they believe let alone how it directly conflicts with their stated principles. It isn’t a matter of knowing, it isn’t mere ignorance, it isn’t even a matter of giving a damn: It’s about wilful malice.

Abducting them at their own trials and immigration hearings, abusing voluntary cooperation with the system… it’s all a transparent attempt to deny the proper exercise of the law and frankly will drive people who would otherwise cooperate with authority underground. They would think like Trump, who is criminal down to the atoms in his lard: “If I just refuse to cooperate they can’t punish me.” And the people that insist “well if there’s nothing to punish you for why not cooperate?” THIS. THIS EXACTLY. There IS no “right way” to be an immigrant in America any more especially not if you “look foreign” to them. If you have “poison blood” as Trump so fondly quotes Hitler. It was blowing smoke up everyone’s asses before and now it’s just an utter lie.

Complete cooperation with all legal procedure will see you snatched straight out of your meeting with your immigration officer, your day in front of a judge - out of your fucking citizenship ceremony - and sent to get summarily tortured to death. Because “the crime is that you’re here” in the most direct meaning. The crime is not being born the “right” kind of person and being alive within knife’s reach.

And this has included U.S. citizens - even the children of the “right” kind of U.S. citizens - as young as 2.
