Oh, ffs, OP! Star Trek has always been very leftist in its views and themes! It’s part of what made it so good and progressive. That being said, I haven’t watched Picard either yet, but from what I’ve heard I’m happy it delves into more modern issues and shows that even the Federation has its flaws while even Romulans can be humane. My biggest problem is that, even considering the source material they work with, they tend to be very badly written(*). With one dimensional characters at best and more strawmen caricatures than acceptable. Shame, cause the likes of Darksiders, Bayonetta, Lucifer, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and even Doom all show that a Biblical setting can make for some good pseudo-fantasy stories… Even though I personally prefer Greek or Norse settings for such things.

But anyway, I can think of a lot of other deities, cosmic beings, or god-killers who I would love to see beat the crap out of the evil bully that fundies tend to worship.
