To your main point, you are what's wrong with politics today. Just like the stupid fucking attack ads for my local Senate race, you guys constantly bray that if your candidate fails to win the election then it will be the "Downfall of Western Civilization" or some shit.

Yet in the 20 or so years I have seen this rhetoric amped up, our country somehow manages to continue existing.
I contend that it is the Right at fault, more so than the Left - that has driven our country into deeper partisanship than it has seen in it's entire history. (Barring maybe the Civil War)

I kept saying to everybody during the race that attack ads don't convince me at all. The way I see it, when you attack your opponent's position it shows me that you don't actually have an argument at all, or you would be making that instead.

When one side is down to platitudes and sound bites they clearly have nothing more to contribute and have no plan to actually address any of the nation's problems and move forward. The GOP is an obsolete, obstructionist "party of no" at this point. A knee-jerk reaction of arguing against whatever the Democrats want regardless of logic, decency, or even reality itself does not constitute a political posistion.

So the solution for a woman being unable to defend herself against a man because her "genes" are weaker than his is to make absolutely sure that she doesn't have children with that man or any like him?

Wouldn't the pairing allow the woman's children (and by extension her descendants) to inherit at least some of those "genes" and perhaps better be able to defend themselves in the future, by your "logic"?

Also all of those interracial children you mention, if your posistion is consistent have to be the result of:

A) Black men raping white women, which undermines whatever you were trying to argue to begin with. (They also never bother to mention how an enslaved man would be able to get close enough to be able to do it, the slave owner tolerating the existence of said child, and all of this occuring often enogh to account for all of the interracial south).

B) White men raping their female slaves. (I will discount the possibility of consensual sex partly because the attitudes of the era, but mostly because a slave inherently can't consent per se)

B is not only more plausible but it also undermines your argument for avoiding the interracial people of the South.

The best analogy i've ever heard for why women seem attracted to men that ignore them is this: "When you are thrown into a den of hungry lions, you stay close to the one that ignores you the most"

Which is to say, women are constantly being hit on by drooling horndogs, so when they meet a guy who doesn't start licking his lips the minute she turns on the girlish charm, she feels safer.

Or to put it another way, women approach "the squeakiest wheel gets the grease" from the other direction, she gets a wheel that doesn't squeak so damn much.

Now I know that this analogy massively oversimplifies the complex nuances that are relationships but reading that quote for the first time completely changed my life.

Why? Because it made me realize that empathy, looking at the way things seem from her point of view makes a world of difference.
