Granted that urine is typically pathogen-free, but it’s not exactly a good way to replenish lost minerals, especially since you’ll need still more than what was excreted.
I’ll also want to know if it’s universal in Ayurvedic medicine (read: are there any branches of that which don’t have such a high opinion of the stuff?). It’s also important to check the medicines of other early cultures. Kemet, Babylon, Hellas, Maya, China, and so forth. What were their views of urine re-intake?
Also make sure this isn’t a matter of exoticization; I do have a thought that the Sanskrit/Hindi words just sound more unusual, and thus somehow more profound, to you than the English and Latin that we’re immersed in. I’m interested to see which languages Indians most frequently deem exotic, and why. (Besides the myriad languages in India that each one questioned doesn’t happen to speak.)
