The simplest answer to that is variety. Demonic aesthetics often look neat/are fun to draw so having a character with them is nice as a creator and help boost engagement.

As an expanded part of variety, it does depend on the characters' origin and creator's thoughts.

Character wise, it should go without saying, but Hell sucks. That's kind of the most defining feature. And the demonic denizens of Hell are either previously angels or humans. Angels or humans who are being punished for some reason and have a long, long time to think about it and regret their actions. Why wouldn't a human, for instance, who really regrets whatever they did nit try to help others or do better if they had the chance?

Creator wise, being X and having a redemption arc is good character building. A person who is/was in "insert violent profession" but now wants to help others and not harm them? A recovering addict of whatever cleaning up and avoiding the thing they were addicted to? Good chances as a writer for character motivation, world building, and development. Being "intrinsically" evil is just another backstory to work with. And of course, the creator might not be a Bible thumping idiot, and if they even believe in Hell would have it be more an extended sort of Purgatory. Since God is you know, often described as all loving, and a pit of fire and torture for all eternity doesn't jive with the author's interpretation of that. But that's the lovely thing with fiction. Just like zombies, vampires, werewolves, and other fantasy races, the demons can be whatever the author wants.

Or you can just say his name is I Am or Jealous. Per the story, He says "I am who I am" and then "Tell them I Am sent you" when He spoke to Moses and that was turned to the YHVH, and extrapolated out to Yahweh or Jehovah, depending on what you like. Like, if the name doesn't translate to "I Am" then why use it?

Later when speaking at length, depending on translation, God also says (in third person) "Don't worship other gods, but the Lord, whose name is Jealous (or called Jealous) and is a jealous god."

I "love" how the entire article doesn't mention any details. It's just amazing when you listen to someone talking about news and have to find the news yourself... I looked up the general information, and from that, if it is indeed what he's talking about, is a bunch (not "a kid" as mentioned) kids were kicked out for homophobia/transphobia. Now, it also doesn't go into detail because of the very young ages of all involved.

So unless we know, it could be a school overreacting, as schools can do for ANY issue, or completely warranted as they publicly stated homophobia/transphobia, but it was "also" a whole lot of bullying and abuse of students, the reason given out being the reason for said bullying and abuse.

Suppose it's only expected here for someone who talks about the Bible to not have actually read the Bible, and who are super involved in religion to not know the doctrines they are talking about.

1. The Immaculate Conception doesn't go against anything in the Bible. It's mostly just a "Well, God doesn't like sin, has perfect knowledge, so sparing Mary from original sin at least makes the mother of the to be Jesus born in a sinless woman. There isn't anything in the Bible about it either way, honestly. Just something people figured would happen.

2. The Immaculate Conception doesn't comment on any other brothers after Jesus. That is another topic. Catholics (at least, might be some others) usually hold that after birthing God, Joseph and Mary didn't have other children, but Joseph likely was fairly older and had children from a previous marriage. Other Christian denominations don't claim that. But irrelevant to the topic.

3. JD is likely confusing Mary Magdalene with Mary Jesus' mother. Because the former is often (for some reason, nothing Biblical) conflated with the prostitute who anointed Jesus' feet. No where in the Bible does it state Mary the Mother of God was involved with anyone but Joseph.

4. Shows a bit of JD's mindset where he'd assume that someone chosen to be the literal mother of the God he worships deserves nothing but scorn and contempt. One can only guess how wonderfully he treats women in his life.

I mean, you're taking the wrong mesaage from the passage. It's not that God is "fair" but God is generous with his grace and help. Rewarding people who come to believe him amd accept him no matter the stage. So if you are a believer in old age you get the same great reward as those who followed for a longer time.

Now, two things (aside from my general thoughs of it being not true) about it. The first is that the metaphor isn't as great for the more "literal" reward offered, as an eternity of heaven, happiness, and all that good stuff doesn't exactly translate as well to a day's wage.
The second is that God can absolutely be unfair, both in the story and in other places of the Bible. The very nature of a character who supposedly is happy to excuse whatever you do for being sorry and loving them is antithetical to a "fair" character.

This sort of revisionist nonsense has always sort of annoyed me. Like, sure, the influence of other religions on Christianity is there and melding the various religious holidays to make it easier to worship is a thing.

But then it's all "Oh, this one guy was so eeeeevil and corrupt, making up which booka were true and not, and blah blah blah" while espousing ideals contradictory to even apocryphal books. It such an obvious display that they just wanna claim things people like Jesus while having nothing to do with anything about the character to draw people in. Gotta make that woo money somehow.
