So you could argue it’s a one party system disguised as two. Or more likely it’s just the two Partys profit from each other. The Republicans scream death and racism to those 40% of Americans who like that. And all the democrats do is saying „well we are not as bad as the Republicans“
The result is a system where no one needs to do anything and still gets re-elected because there can not be a more extreme voice for the right and everyone else will be to afraid to not vote Democrat because than the Republicans will be in charge

So to be fair I am for less influence of old people in politics. I don’t think it is wise to have very old people decide over the future they themselves will most likely not see (still Biden is better than trump 11 times out of 10)
But most of the old people worked for the next generation so to give them a f*cking break is not really asking much. For the racism and such: try to teach you parents and grandparents after all they taught you how to use the toilet or how to eat solids so the least you owe them is some fricking Patience.
