Regarding the shooting of Alex Pretti, I saw ICE’s photo of the pistol that was supposedly confiscated from him.

It appears to be a SIG P320, the same model that ICE themselves use.

I’m sure that lots of American shooters do have a SIG P320, but in view of previous events involving ICE I am unconvinced that the photo shows Pretti’s pistol at all.

The trouble with executing people is that it doesn’t have a deterrent effect. Historically, crime was much higher when criminals were executed in public. Today, executions in the USA are not done in public, but the violent crime still goes up after an execution happens. Also, prison sentences in the USA are much higher than in the UK. That costs shitloads, has made a whole economy out of prison and it still hasn’t helped their crime problem.

I may be a liberal but I’m no bleeding heart and I don’t give a shit about the human rights of people who don’t consider others. I admit, I would actually like to see criminals swinging in the breeze.
