Because they’re confusing general Good with the punitive side of Justice (i.e. without the more important succoring side), I suspect. At the very least, they don’t expect El to skimp the punishment of Lucifer—even if it would require greater mortal perdition? (Expect a lot of guesswork in that previous sentence.)
There do seem to be theologies, though, that posit God’s holiness is such that anything he creates at all, just by being distinct from him, “deserves” perdition lest he be polluted somehow. Putting soteriology aside for now, this means that God’s holiness is the ultimate good, outweighing Kindness, Love, etc. by several googolplexes. At least.
