I’ll have you note, these are the same people who complain quite loudly about anything said that involves harming children, even in fiction.
Anyone in Europe played your original retail version of Fallout 2? Remember going to the Den and having things randomly come up missing? Couldn’t figure out what it was?
It’s because there were child NPCs at the doorways who’d pick your pocket as you passed by. But, in the European version, all the children had to be removed, because it was possible to kill the children. Only they did a half-assed job of it, and only removed the artwork, which also removed the ability to target them. The scripts were still running, and you got your stuff stolen, without any way to do anything about it, not even the non-violent solution of picking their pockets.
All because certain people with a bit of power in Europe thought that killing children, in a completely fictional game, is too horrible to allow.
And you know what? Now the Fallout games have children in all versions, you just can’t kill them. Of course you can get a mod that makes them killable, and a bunch of people complain “why do you want to kill kids!” If your answer is that you want to kill EACH AND EVERY NPC IN THE GAME, then their only question is “but why the kids?” You mean committing digital genocide is okay, as long as all the victims are 18+, right?
And this, this is why I don’t take so called free speech advocates seriously. They always, each and every time, believe that what they think should be spoken freely, everyone who disagrees should shut up. And so often come at you with such twisted morals you have to wonder if they have any at all.
