Someone seriously needs to shut the hell up, and it’s probably not who you think it is assholes.
The world cup in Qatar is the epitome of corruption, and EVERYONE knew about it. It was criticized from the start for so many reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with cultural posturing:
- The corruption of FIFA (and yes, that includes Germany buying the world cup for 2006 as well!)
- The horrible way Qatar treated its workers from oversea (many of them died, were pretty much enslaved and had no legal standing there)
- The fact that Qatar has been deceiving and using FIFA and its dependence on the state and the successful world cup to push its own political agenda
And those were just a few reasons. Only because of momentum and FIFA being such a powerful organisation were these criticisms fruitless in the end. But you can’t blame us for still being angry about it and ramping up now that the world cup is happening.
What you two are doing is called: Whataboutism. And very badly done Whataboutism to boot.
Let’s see about these failings of the West that allegedly mean that we can’t possibly criticize Qatar (no doubt the next state after Russia to become heroic in the eyes of the right simply because it somehow “owns the libs”):
“forced-jab supporting, baby-injecting, lockdown-loving, mask-mandating”: Anti-vaxx is unscientific bullshit. Covid was real and people like you should be ashamed for all the deaths your ignorance and stubborness indirectly (and sometimes directly) caused. From my point of view your ideals are the morally repugnant ones.
“science-denying transhumanist cheerleaders for globalist technocrats”: The irony is palpable. You lot worship the ground of the superrich and right-wing assholes, and there is not a single scientific view you wouldn’t deny if it doesn’t fit into your worldview. Hey dumbass: Newest research shows that biological sex is a bimodal continuum, that evolution is happening, that climate change is caused by man-made CO2 emission, that homosexuality is a normal expression of sexuality across the animal kingdom, and definitely so in humans, that race as a biological concept isn’t applicable to humans… I could go on. Your side denies many if not all of these statements, so yeah, you calling others science deniers is laughable.

There was no election-interference from the Democrats. Your side has never shown any evidence for it. Hunter Biden might have had a laptop and might even be involved in shady businesses, but what that has to do with his father, or democrats in general is beyond me. On the other hand, a certain orange guy stole secret documents… (actually I am too lazy to count down all of Trumps obvious crimes, so just insert any you can think of in the ellipses) and many of you still deny it. The only state war-mongering in Ukraine is Russia. End of story. And seeing as the person you are talking to is Matt Walsh, a part of these media which your right-wing followers slavishly follow (alongside people such as Jordan Peterson or media outlets like Fox News), that’s rich coming from you.
“We kill, castrate, and sterilize our children here.”: No we don’t. Abortion is not murder and puberty blockers are not castration or sterilization. You are lying using the worst argument (aka equivocation by definition), a big moral failing I would say.
“We celebrate evil and debauchery in its most deranged forms.”: Well… you do, but very much not sure about the rest of western civilization as a whole. Don’t drag us with you Walsh!

They don't respect it. Painful for me to realize because I still love my country.”: Since fucking when do you give a crap about the opinions of people from an african country? Oh, only if they fit your own worldview and only so that if anyone says anything against it you can have your “Gottcha! YOU are the real racist here!” moment? Fuck that and citation seriously fucking needed. You don’t love your country. You love your idealized right-wing version of it. That’s a very different thing Walsh.
So overall: I don’t see any reason for why we shouldn’t criticize Qatar, FIFA and this world cup. Your grievances with western culture are actually what I like about it (or they are entirely imaginary in the first place). What stops the two of you from moving to Qatar? Or Russia for that matter? Just STFU, seriously.
