Um, have you checked why so many French were slain in Haiti—that it was a slave uprising? I can understand issues of killing French who opposed slavery in the process, but the fact of the matter is that they were undoing an atrocity.
“White” is a pretty useless conceit, anyway. What good is it to collapse English, French, German, Norse, etc. all together, especially with Europe not being of one mind at any point in history?
Finally, feeling bad about history does not mean feeling suicidal. Death sentences should not be about repayment (come to think of it, that arguably debases the victims as just so many resources…), but rather sealing off the malefactor’s threat when nothing else will do the job. Hard for the dead to do penance, at least. Responsibility isn’t necessarily about guilt, anyway, but about ability to respond for the better. Such as make the behavior of European-line groups better.
