For instance, Tanenbaum claimed that we teach, regarding the global Flood, that “Noah saved all animal species that we see today from the Flood.” This is a common equivocation that evolutionists make in regard to the animals on Noah’s Ark. As we clearly teach in the Creation Museum, Noah didn’t take representatives of every species of animal we see today—he took representatives of every “kind” (which is usually at the “family” level of classification) of land animal (not every type of animal). And these animals would have had the genetic material within them to eventually produce the many species we see today.

In this paragraph, he refutes one of the big creationist claims! For decades, they’ve said speciation isn’t possible. The only “evolution” is microevolution, small changes, and have even said if a surviving animal of a “kind” from 6000 years ago mated with a modern animal of its kind, they’d have offspring! Jesus, they contradict themselves all the time, and claim we’re stupid for not falling for their shit.

Still possible (I’m not doing the research myself) that Zelesnsky’s family is ethnic Russian, there are a number of such families in Ukraine. Some of those are hardline Russian Empire supporters, but most it seems, not so much. A lot of other countries in that area have the same issue, a lot of ethnic Russians, growing up speaking Russian even today.

There were also quite a few plains tribes in the Midwest that were taught to us in school from the early 1900s into the 1990s as having been nomadic hunter-gatherers when Europeans first ran across them, but turns out … they weren’t. They had hunting parties who would spend a few months every year following and hunting buffalo, but most of the tribespeople stayed back home in towns and farmland. The buffalo hunting was for meat to eat, hide for clothing and shelter walls, and bones and sinew for tools and some of the shelter framing.

In the 90s, though, I did have a high school history teacher who started correcting the teaching, and I’ve learned a little more even since then. Including most of the North America was cultivated land, but cultivated in ways that it seemed to blend in and look natural and wild to people who don’t know about plants.

Slight correction, Buddhism isn’t precisely an atheistic religion, but more a religion (more often thought and described as a philosophy of life) that doesn’t concern itself with theism. Many Buddhists are atheists, many are polytheists, few if any are monotheists. Also very are particularly concerned with anyone’s views on theism, whether their own or others, short of how those views affect they way people act around them.

There are, of course, exceptions to all of this. Suffice to say, Buddhism and claimants of it are not without fault without fault in history. Even pretty recent history.
