The first is the disincentive to have kids knowing that if you do, you’ll have to deal with “safety” seats for years to come.

WTF? Ok, I’m 47, I’ve honestly never really felt a strong desire to have children yet. I understand, though, that other people often do feel that desire, strongly. So, I can’t imagine, for instance…..some couple who are in love, they made the decision to start a family together…but the only thing holding them back is the thought that their son or daughter might have to ride in a car seat???

For what it’s worth, I work at a truck stop, and one of the training videos every employee is required to watch is about how to look out for and report signs of human trafficking. At least in my 2 years and change of working there, I haven’t seen any of that, anyway.

Whether they were “going woke” or not, I can probably think of a good number of franchises that had critically and/or commercially unsuccessful installments or adaptations, yet they continued to make money. To name one example that I’m familiar with, there’s the DragonLance series of fantasy books. There was a DragonLance NES game that I believe is cited as one of the worst NES games of all time, and much later, an animated movie based on the first book…which went “direct-to-video” so maybe you can guess how good that turned out, lol. (I saw it once, and have absolutely no desire to ever see it again) Yet various authors kept putting out books in the series, so I guess it must have not “gone broke” yet!
