Well, I don’t know everything about all political systems, so I can only speak from experience. I think a better solution would be something between ours (too many fractured parties to count) and the US (only two opposites that naturally divide people), but that’s just me.
Your Govt. needs an overhaul.
Understatement of the year… In case people here don’t know, I’m Belgian, and I’m not going to bore you with all the details, but I recently heard in the news that somebody is sueing our government in front of the EU because, as I said, for a “democracy” our votes don’t matter. The dozen parties here keep fighting amongst each other, forming alliances & backstabbing each other, with no third party to arbitrate amongst them at all! We have held the record of being the country without a functional government for the longest time because of this once!
The good thing is, we might never get any dictator at all in power. The bad thing is that literally nothing ever gets done here. It’s like a massive machine, consuming immense money (seriously, for the high taxes we have, you don’t see anything done with them) and resources, while producing practically nothing, all for the sake of remaining operational and nothing more.
Combined with the fact that we are one of the few countries where voting is not a right but an legal obligation… Honestly at this point I don’t even know who to vote for at all anymore. They seem to be all equally incompetent…
Apologies for the rant, I just felt like it.
