Since I always watch/read something before judging it...
First, let me say I think Bobby killing himself was a tragedy. Gay or not, it's always sad when someone decides to take their life.
I think the movie was horribly offensive. I expected homosexuality to be portrayed in a positive light, so no surprise there. But the mother was portrayed as a total witch just because she voiced that God didn't make anyone that way, and that Bobby needed to try to help himself be cured. They even said it was her fault he decided to commit suicide. Again, that was a horrible tragedy, but it was in no way Mary(the mother)'s fault. She was just saying what she knew to be true. Her grief for her son even forced her to right for gay rights, because she so wanted to believe her son was in Heaven.
Like I said, I knew this was a pro-homosexual movie, so I wasn't at all surprised when they showed it was a "good" thing. But to show the mother as a total nut just because she loved God was too much!

Here in the Midwest, and really in most of the country, there has been arctic air coming down from Canada for a couple weeks now. I heard on the news last night that, the only place in the continental U.S. that had mild temperatures was the far southern tip of Florida. Even Las Vegas was going to have an overnight low last night of 35 degrees!!! I was just wondering if anyone here feels as I do, that this might be a sign of God's judgment on this country for turning its back on Him? I'd be very interested in hearing your feedback! I was listening to the Wicked soundtrack in the car(because it's one of the only Broadway shows I like because it isn't dirty) and I thought of something interesting. For those who don't know, Wicked tells the back story of the Wicked Witch of the West, and why she's known as the wicked witch. Long story short, she's just misunderstood because the wizard tries to use her, and she's friends with Glinda. Well, the show opens with all the citizens of Oz celebrating her melting. Glinda shows us the story in a flashback. By the end, they're singing the same song in sad tones, because now everyone knows the whole story.
It got me thinking about George Bush. Right now, everyone is celebrating his leaving, much like they were celebrating Elphaba(the witch's name)'s death. By the time four years pass, everyone might be looking back at Bush's leaving sadly because Obama was much worse, and we know Bush only did his best.
It's amazing how a childrens' show can inspire so much thought.

I wrote it one day about 2 years ago and still reflect back on it often. It is an insight that has helped me a great deal and pray it will help others.

Some days it seems as though I should never have left the warmth of my bed. Everything seems to go wrong - from
1. dropping my freshly filled favorite coffee cup on my keyboard first thing in the morning -
2. to my computer taking four times as long to process every command as usual
3. and a client calling every five minutes to see if I have that report done yet -
4. To the phone ringing and hearing from every friend whom hasn't called me in 6 months and chose this moment to pick up the phone and want to 'catch up'
5. to every telemarketer in the world calling in between
6. to having everyone I have faxed a report to that day tell me they never received it
At some point - I realize I am under attack. These are not coincidences. And the choice is made - to give in and give up and have that temper tantrum I so justly deserve and therefore be ready to tear off the head of the next person I talk to -
or realize that I am on the front lines taking the hits from the enemy and since he is not omnipresent - if he is messing with me - then that means there is a brother or sister in the Lord who is having a good day and recuperating from a day they need to be able to witness to someone for the Lord.
So, I wave the white flag and accept my assignment as decoy and smile. For, while the enemy was thinking I would destroy my witness and lose my joy - he was wasting his time and another soul was saved somewhere down the street by someone who was not under attack.

However, after reading some of the despicable comments by those people that post there, I decided to once again, look at my Bible. I came to the conclusion that atheism is a tool of the devil to blind people. I bowed my knee and accepted Jesus as my Savior.

Is it ok for us Christians to represent ourselves using such words

I'm not claiming to be any kind of a prophet (God forbid!) and I'm not trying to spread fear ... but, folks, persecution of the true followers of Jesus Christ is the coming reality .. a reality that is already here but is gathering momentum.

Also with the tilting of the axis, the world can see some of the disasters happening...

But He did ensure that Hitler did not succeed in his plan for world conquest. And, along with many other things, He ensured that all Jews were not destroyed. If you examine the "coincidences" that resulted in Hitler's serious errors of judgment or the fortuitous circumstances that came out of nowhere to ensure an Allied victory ... then you either have to accept the fact that there was an unbelievable string of "lucky" coincidences ... or accept that God indeed had a hand in Hitler's defeat.

I agree. I was just sitting here commenting to my wife about how I have seen our country go from a Christian nation into one that is very ungodly now. If I am alone in this view, then everybody please let me know about it in this thread, and everybody can talk about or praise Obama 'till the cows come home.
He is a Muslim. In an interview he even said, "My Muslim faith"
The fact that he was born a Muslim, went to Muslim school as a child in Indonesia, and is being supported 100% by all of the Muslims and the 'church' he went to gave a 'man of the year' award to the head of the nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan who is now calling Obama the Messiah.
The President of the US is commander in chief of our military. If Islam’s ‘messiah’ has the US military and all her weapons at their disposal, they can achieve this prophecy in very short order.
This NOT anything we want to take lightly.
*Oh, c'mon people, civilization has survived Nebuchadnezzar, Roman emperor Nero, Alexander the Great, King Herod, King Henry VIII of England, Adolf Hitler, Sadam Hussein and George W. Bush, to name just a few. It'll survive Obama and his minions, too.

would you please define "civilization"? is it "civil" to kill babies, reward incompetence while punishing those who work hard and succeed, etc., tolerate a "religion" whose theology is "convert or die", etc.?
