That makes no sense to me.
1. Circles, ellipses and polygons are types of shapes constructed differently. Side length is only applicable to the latter.
The areas are not defined as either the one or the other, they are different, equally valid but unequally convenient, ways to calculate the same measure (of a shape, which is the thing defined). And so the convenient way to calculate is the standard for that shape. If anything, the rectangle is the special case (which can then be used to easily calculate some other special cases, like the right triangle as half a rectangle or the regular octagon as a truncated square) - generalised, the easiest way to express the area of a regular polygon would be 1/2 perimeter times the apogee (inradius), as they increasingly approximate a circle (with an area of r*2πr/2=πr².

The circle (two-dimensional sphere) is defined as the totality of points (within a plane) at a given distance known as the radius, which is also how you draw one. As such, it makes sense to use the radiuds. And I do not see what your objection is.

IIRC, the high domestic violence rates experienced by women in homosexual relationships is primarily due to domestic violence including attacks by ex-partners, and men who are this sort of abusive feel even more entitled to revenge against and/or “reconquering” women who escaped them if her new guy is a girl. (I presume not just out of homophobia, but also because it makes their insecurity about their sexual performance, self-fulfilling due to their inability and/or refusal to empathise with women, all the more acute.)

And yes, dictators leaving their throne alive and without an outright violent revolution or putsch does happen, whether because of the pressure of protest and/or the failures of the system growing too strong or a regime-internal takeover by a new dictator. And in either case, yes, the former dictator is very much at risk to be put on trial and convicted.

Trump is not a dictator. He is an incompetent wannabe dictator. He tried to rule autocratically, he tried to prevent the transition of power, he is still trying to put himself above the law. But he failed, because he is too dumb and lazy and politically ignorant to actually take over a functioning democracy. However, if elected again, he would try again… certainly not with any more sophistication or diligence, but all the more ruthlessly and shamelessly and stubbornly - and with the Supreme Court filled with far-righters and with the Republican Party radicalising itself ever more into a shameless fascist personality cult to Trump, it may work this time.

Could you convict Putin? Or Xi Jinping of China? They’d have you executed. If Trump was a dictator no one could steal his election, indict him, censor him, gag him, frame him, convict him?

It is interesting that they believe that something as small and basic a freaking nuclear - as they love to clarify - family needs a designated leader (with absolute unshared power, no less) is… interesting. In part, this is certainly something that is a cargo-cult relic from times where households would frequently include not only extended family, but even slaves, servants, farmhands, etc. But more importantly, it speaks to their authoritarianism, to the depth to which prescriptive hierarchy is ingrained in their mindset.
