I just looked up this Chase Strangio. He’s a lawyer who argues for transgender rights. His bio says he’s with a woman, so I’d probably make the same assumption as Bill Maher there. Still, Strangio’s successes must be the result of intelligent debate, something this quotee obviously can’t do.

The trouble with being a paedophile is that eventually you’re going to do something inappropriate with a child, even with the best of intentions. That’s why paedophiles need help, even the ones who are doing their damnedest to stay away from molestation and porn.

If an ordinary person does something inappropriate to an adult they fancy - same sex or opposite - and I don’t necessarily mean sexual coercion, it could simply be an unwanted pass - the adult can deal with that. A child can’t.
