Reading the link, it sounds like she jumped in after the child but couldn’t get them out in time to save the child (UK canals often have sheer concrete or metal walls, can be 15 feet high). I’m guessing the child died of cold or shock.

As previously stated hundreds of times the incels are in competition with each other to say the worst thing they can and any one who voices the least bit of sympathy gets called a simp or soyboy or whatever insult they’re using now, then slung out of the community. With no reliable photos or remains of course people don’t believe in Sasquatch any more. The increasing population and subsequent colonisation of America (new roads, towns etc) has made the perceived existence of such a creature without reliable evidence impossible in most people’s minds.

Regarding my own islands, which (being small) are more colonised than the American landmasses, I have found a few people in Cornwall who believe in the existence of ‘the Fae’. However, even they generally perceive the Fae to be living in another dimension most of the time and with an extra-dimensional creature, all bets are off (it could be argued that God, angels and demons also fall into this category). I doubt many Irish believe in leprechauns either, at least not when they’re sober anyway.
