"Protecting children and removing a page from a website aren’t “eras[ing] the LGBTQ+ community,”"
How are you protecting children?
"What the AP buries in the story is that the Visit Florida website is a public-private partnership with the state contributing from economic development funds but not having complete control over content. This destroys the left’s image of DeSantis looking down from on high declaring, “Take the gay travel page down. We must erase the gays!”"
"At the end of the day, taking down a special LGBTQ travel page isn’t going to discourage anybody but the most militant gay activists. The movers and shakers in Florida’s tourism industry know this, which is why they’re willing to let Visit Florida promote travel for everyone."
Except you ignore this part:

"The Stonewall National Museum Archives and Library in Fort Lauderdale largely depends on visitors, many of them tourists, to stay afloat.
And like many businesses and organizations, it pays a membership fee to the state-run tourism website “Visit Florida” in hopes of getting exposure as an LGBTQ destination.
But now the museum wants a refund.
The state site recently caused controversy when it deleted a page promoting Florida as a destination to the LGBTQ community."
See it isn't just the state saying "everyone is welcome". But now the state says business can't promote to certain crowds!
"It’s hard to visit a travel website that doesn’t have a special page for LGBTQ travel tips. I don’t really understand what special needs gays and lesbians have when it comes to travel — and I probably don’t want to know. But if gay people are “just like us,” as they’ve reassured us time and again, why can’t they book a hotel or make a restaurant reservation without special instructions?"
Probably avoiding discrimination: https://volunteer.ewb-usa.org/s/article/Domestic-Travel-Safety-for-LGBTQ-Travelers#:~:text=Unfortunately%2C%20a%20person's%20sexual%20orientation,harassment%2C%20discrimination%2C%20or%20violence.
What you think if they are "just like you" and you don't get discriminated or insulted over your sexuality, then they aren't as well?
