Georgia GOP Chair Kandiss Taylor #fundie #conspiracy rollingstone.com

KANDISS TAYLOR, A recently elected GOP District Chair in Georgia, would like to know why Big Globe won’t stop shoving round-Earth propaganda down our throats.

In an interview with David Weiss (AKA “Flat Earth Dave”) and Matt Long on her “Jesus, Guns, and Babies” podcast, Taylor and her guests discussed biblical “evidence” that the Earth is actually flat as a pancake. “The people that defend the globe don’t know anything about the globe,” said Weiss. “If they knew a tenth of what Matt and I know about the globe they would be Flat Earthers.”

“All the globes, everywhere” Taylor said later in the discussion. “I turn on the TV, there’s globes in the background … Everywhere there’s globes. You see them all the time, it’s constant. My children will be like ‘Mama, globe, globe, globe, globe’ — they’re everywhere.”

“That’s what they do, to brainwash,” she added. “For me if it’s not a conspiracy. If it is real, why are you pushing so hard everywhere I go? Every store, you buy a globe, there’s globes everywhere. Every movie, every TV show, news media — why? More and more I’m like, it doesn’t make sense.”

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito #fundie #wingnut rollingstone.com

Samuel Alito spoke candidly about the ideological battle between the left and the right — discussing the difficulty of living “peacefully” with ideological opponents in the face of “fundamental” differences that “can’t be compromised.” He endorsed what his interlocutor described as a necessary fight to “return our country to a place of godliness.” And Alito offered a blunt assessment of how America’s polarization will ultimately be resolved: “One side or the other is going to win”

Alito made these remarks in conversation at the Supreme Court Historical Society’s annual dinner on June 3[…]Comments were recorded by Lauren Windsor, a liberal documentary filmmaker. Windsor attended the dinner as a dues-paying member of the society under her real name, along with a colleague. She asked questions of the justice as though she were a religious conservative

The recording, which was provided exclusively to Rolling Stone, captures Windsor approaching Alito at the event and reminding him that they spoke at the same function the year before, when she asked him a question about political polarization. In the intervening year, she tells the justice, her views on the matter had changed. “I don’t know that we can negotiate with the left in the way that needs to happen for the polarization to end,” Windsor says. “I think that it’s a matter of, like, winning”

“I think you’re probably right,” Alito replies. “On one side or the other — one side or the other is going to win. I don’t know. I mean, there can be a way of working — a way of living together peacefully, but it’s difficult, you know, because there are differences on fundamental things that really can’t be compromised. They really can’t be compromised. So it’s not like you are going to split the difference”

Windsor goes on to tell Alito: “People in this country who believe in God have got to keep fighting for that — to return our country to a place of godliness”

“I agree with you. I agree with you,” replies Alito

Tucker Carlson #conspiracy #crackpot #dunning-kruger #pratt rollingstone.com

Tucker Carlson’s descent into pushing conspiracies hit a scientific new low as the former Fox News host suggested in a new interview that he’s open to the theory that Earth may actually be flat.

Speaking to the Blaze’s Alex Stein (via Meidas Touch), Carlson was asked about the Flat Earth theory. “Well, I’m open to anything,” he replied. “How could I not be open to anything at this point? I mean, there’s been so much deception that you can’t trust your preconceptions.”

After dismissing the notion that history trends toward “enlightenment and technological progress” as “a complete lie,” Carlson added, “The most basic stories we’ve been told about history, about the Earth, the physical Earth itself, which has been completely changed by climate change for millions of years, once you realize all of that, then it’s like, I don’t know, what is true?”

However, Carlson wouldn’t brand himself a Flat Earther only because guns of all things taught him that the world is probably round. “As far as the curvature of the Earth, that’s a thing in shooting,” he said. “I like rifle shooting and past a certain distance you have to take that in account. That suggests it’s real. Because one thing I know that is guns. Guns are real.”

Not surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Carlson has baited Flat Earthers, using their ridiculous cause as an entry point to examine other conspiracies, like the “truth” behind 9/11 and aliens.

“Flat Earth people have been able to cruise beneath the radar for so long — and by the way I’m not discounting that possibility for the record, in case any are here, because I’m an open-minded man,” Carlson once said at a Turning Point Action conference. “Present me the evidence of its flatness, and I will amplify it.”

Mike Lee #conspiracy #wingnut #dunning-kruger rollingstone.com

Lee quoted a post from former Jan. 6 committee member Liz Cheney that contained footage of the Capitol attack, writing, “Liz, we’ve seen footage like that a million times. You made sure we saw that—and nothing else. It’s the other stuff—what you deliberately hid from us—that we find so upsetting. Nice try.”

He then added, “P.S. How many of these guys are feds? (As if you’d ever tell us).”

Then on Saturday, Lee quoted a post from a Republican former West Virginia legislator Derrick Evans who asked if an image from a Jan. 6 video inside the Capitol shows a rioter “flashing a badge?”

“If so, this would prove there were undercover federal agents disguised as MAGA,” Evans wrote.

Lee quoted Evans’ post and wrote, “I can’t wait to ask FBI Director Christopher Wray about this at our next oversight hearing. I predict that, as always, his answers will be 97% information-free.”

You might pause and wonder, is the person behind the account with the handle @BasedMikeLee really a U.S. senator? But it is. Lee confirmed to The Salt Lake Tribune in 2022 that the account is his.

The man pictured with the alleged badge is Trump supporter Kevin Lyons, who is shown in a separate photo carrying a vape in his hand. Twitter appended two fact checks to the tweets, writing that Lyons “is not a police officer and is not holding a badge. He is carrying a vape and a photograph and wallet stolen from Pelosi’s office.”

Even if Lyons were a federal agent, he would certainly be going to great lengths to disguise his affiliation. Lyons is currently serving a four-year prison sentence for his actions in the Capitol, which include stealing a wallet and taking a framed photo of the late Rep. John Lewis from then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office.

Donald Trump has long been painting a picture of what he’ll do to the United States should he win back the White House next November. His plans include everything from pulling America out of NATO, as Rolling Stone reported on Monday, to a sweeping, multi-faceted crackdown on immigration — which he elaborated on during a campaign speech in New Hampshire

“I will implement strong ideological screening of all immigrants,” the former president vowed. “If you hate America, if you want to abolish Israel, if you don’t like our religion (which a lot of them don’t), if you sympathize with jihadists, then we don’t want you in our country and you are not getting in”[…]

QAnon Believers Think Trump’s Indictment Will (Somehow) Lead to Mass Arrest of Democrats

FOR MANY OF Donald Trump’s supporters, today is a dark day indeed: The president pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts today after being formally arrested in a Manhattan courtroom. But for those in the Qanon conspiracist movement, hope springs eternal, and “The Storm” is always just around the corner.

[…]

On 8kun’s “qresearch” forum, users quickly latched onto “There is no going back” as significant, with one user pointing to a 2019 post in which the anonymous Q used the same phrase. Another person replied, “that’s a proof if I have ever seen it.” (Qanon communities call anything a “proof” if it seems to confirm their overall conspiracy theory about Trump battling a secret war against nefarious elites.) Some on the 8kun board voiced the sentiment that Trump, by allowing himself to be indicted, was setting those very elites up for arrest themselves. In response to a meme that asked “At what stage in the game do you play the TRUMP card,” a user replied, “After all legal precedents have been opened?”

Prominent Q influencer IntheMatrixx, who had been banned on Twitter for such content before being reinstated under Elon Musk‘s ownership, appeared to jump on the same narrative. He pulled up a different 2019 Q drop that read, “First indictment [unseal] will trigger mass pop awakening.” In Q lore, the “awakening” will occur when people become aware of and rise up against the so-called “cabal” opposing Trump — the Democratic pedophiles and Satanists, et al. Here, IntheMatrixxx is implying that Q not only predicted Trump’s indictment but knew it would see MAGA enemies finally brought to justice.

Elon Musk #racist #conspiracy #dunning-kruger #god-complex rollingstone.com

While much of America enjoyed a relaxing Labor Day weekend of cookouts and beach trips, X (formerly known as Twitter) owner Elon Musk was doubling down on his absurd claims that the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish nonprofit, had somehow tanked the website he personally ran into the ground.

The accusations began last week, after ADL director Jonathan Greenblatt had a meeting with X CEO Linda Yaccarino to discuss the prevalence of hate speech on the platform. This kicked off a trending hashtag campaign, #BanTheADL, predicated on the groundless idea that the organization has stifled free speech on X (and should therefore have their account removed). But the tag, promoted by known antisemites and white supremacists, generated a slew of hateful content. When Musk proved receptive to the movement and chimed in to allege that “ADL has tried very hard to strangle X/Twitter,” he did so in reply to Keith Woods, an antisemitic YouTuber affiliated with notorious racists Richard Spencer and Nick Fuentes.

By Saturday, Musk was mulling a poll on whether to suspend the ADL and tweeting that it had been “hijacked by the woke mind virus.” He returned to the topic on Monday, once again interacting with Woods and escalating his rhetoric against the group, blaming them for the preponderance of antisemitism on X and insisting that they were out to destroy the website. “Since the acquisition, The @ADL has been trying to kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic,” he complained.

From there, Musk began spinning out even more outrageous claims of sabotage, tweeting that a 60 percent plummet in U.S. advertising revenue for the site was “primarily due to pressure” from the ADL. (In fact, brands have tended to blame Musk himself for their departure.) Multiple times, he threatened a defamation suit against the organization, at one point calculating that they had cut his company’s value in half, making them liable for a loss of some $22 billion. This back-of-the-envelope math, dubious on its face, also seems to derive from the $44 billion price tag of Musk’s Twitter acquisition, and even he has said he was “obviously overpaying” at that price.

The homosexuals are the bullies. Less than 2% of the population is coercing the rest of us into following their agenda. These story is the one Rolling Stone wants you to hear. Just as certainly as they want you to believe that Jerry Sandusky is a pedophile when he is in fact a homosexual pederast. Who are the real victims? Teens led to believe that they are homosexual by tolerant people who say its ok to be that way? Or teens who are raped and told to keep quiet? Unfortunately the answer is both. As raped teens are "bullied" into thinking its their fault they are raped. If they weren't "gay" they wouldn't have been raped in the first place. Tolerance is the devil's best weapon. When you open the box of homosexuality you let out an evil you can't control. I know you children have been led to believe there is no such thing as evil...you should question that. Rolling Stone is no authority on anything.

Former President Donald Trump said that if re-elected, he would use the government to investigate and potentially halt transgender health care during a National Rifle Association (NRA) speech on Friday

“Upon my inauguration, I will direct the FDA to convene an independent outside panel to investigate whether transgender hormone treatments and ideology increase the risk of extreme depression, aggression and even violence,” said Trump to the crowd gathered in Indianapolis, Indiana

“I think most of us already know the answer,” he added. Trump then said he would direct an investigation of whether “genetically engineered cannabis” is “causing psychotic breaks”

The former president also accused Democrats of “pushing the transgender cult” on children. Earlier in his speech, he called school shootings a “spiritual problem” and not a “gun problem.” He also proposed a tax credit for arming teachers

Let me just weigh in here with an absolute. Homosexuality is absolutely wrong. It is absolutely sinful, and it is not to be promoted or tolerated.

The school has no business encouraging any type perverted sexuality or sexual act. That is specifically, homosexuality, bestiality, necrophilia, pedophilia, incest, adultery, rape or fornication. Those of us who have a basic understanding of godly principles understand relatively well how DESTRUCTIVE and HARMFUL perverted lifestyle choices actually are. Not only do they invoke the wrath of God, (HIV, syphilis, gonorrhrea, chlamydia, etc), but sexual perversion destroys marriages, which in turn decimates a healthy family structure, which in fact leads to structurally and morally unsound community.

Also, for those who don't understand that homosexual acts DO in fact change a child or person that is heterosexual, I will correct you by informing you that there are literally THOUSANDS of homosexuals who share that the reason that they are currently practicing homosexuality and or suffering under homosexual urges is because of sexual abuse and molestation committed against them by other homosexual adults AND HOMOSEXUAL CHILDREN. When these types of acts are committed during a child's sexually formative years, a child who is growing up naturally as a heterosexual suffers a sexual mutation into homosexuality. That is a fact that is often exploited by homosexual offenders who have an appetite for more homosexual partners.

So before the ungodly, immoral, sexually depraved liberals of the world think they have any kind of valid points, try working with children who are bleeding due to the sexual abuse that they have suffered from older homosexuals. Talk the to the men and women who have been raped by same sex offenders. If they survive the attacks, they are often deeply depressed and suicidal due to the horrible, destructive nature of the offense. If we are to be truly humane and decent, we can't ignore this truth for the sake of any heavily weighted, lopsided argument favoring the homosexual lifestyle.

Homosexuality is a beastly and demonic spirit. It is not harmless. And it is absolutely not simply a matter of "opinion." Finally, should you be a nonbeliever who chooses to spit hatred and anger, vitriol and lies at me because of this post, let me tell you that I expect it. What else can the world offer by vileness and evil, violence and hatred? I EXPECT the worst of you.

[New Apostolic Reformation, dominionist public prayer in preparation for the 2020 coup attempt, conspiracy by conspiracy theorists, call for holy takeover]

A week before Jan. 6, on a Zoom call organized by far-right Christian Nationalists seeking to reinstall Donald Trump in the White House, a man with a booming baritone voice bowed his bald head and began to pray. “We remember the promises of old,” he said, before invoking the book of Revelations and its account of the End Times: “We know we overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony and not loving our lives unto death.”

“God I ask you that you help us roll in these dark times, that we fear not the darkness, that we will seize our Esther and Gideon moments,” the man said, invoking a pair of Old Testament heroes who made themselves instruments of God’s vengeance. “We’re surrounded by wickedness and fear, and dithering, and inaction,” he added, “But that’s not our problem. Our problem is following Your lead.” Looking ahead to Jan 6, the man said: “I pray that… we’ll seize the power that we had given to us by the Constitution, and as well by You, providentially. I pray for the leaders also in the federal government, God, on the Sixth of January that they will rise up with boldness.”
[...]
The prayer meeting — one of a series of nearly two dozen “Global Prayer for Election Integrity” calls organized between election day and Jan. 6 — was organized by Jim Garlow, a prominent figure in the far-right New Apostolic Restoration movement. The GOP Suddenly Wants to Defund Law Enforcement After Feds Raid Mar-a-Lago

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene whined that defunding the Department of Justice would “completely cut out of their budget the ability to persecute Republicans”

After years defending the continued militarization of law enforcement agencies across the United States, Republican lawmakers appeared to have a change of heart Monday after learning the FBI executed a search at the Florida estate of former President Donald Trump. Faced with the possibility that the “good guys” aren’t necessarily on their side, prominent members of the party that made backing the blue a central tenet of its political platform began spouting rhetoric that belied their professed allegiance to the “rule of law.”

“The GOP majority must defund all forms of tyranny throughout Biden’s government,” prominent right-wing figurehead Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) wrote on Twitter, tagging the official FBI account. She later added: “Weaponizing the FBI to raid President Trump’s home makes Watergate look like nothing.” Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), meanwhile, embraced the GOP’s favored doomsday approach. “We must destroy the FBI,” he tweeted. “We must save America.”

https://twitter.com/RepGosar/status/1556821907726630915

As the primary law enforcement agency of the United States government whose self-described mission is “to uphold the rule of law,” the Department of Justice and its associated agencies are essentially America’s police force. Any efforts to defund or dismantle these agencies would is akin to liberal activists’ calls to reduce or restructure funding for local police forces — a concept Trump regularly used as a scare tactic to push voters away from Democrats. Yet, as is to be expected, irony is an art that remains lost on the most fervent of right-wing Republicans.

No voice in the “Defund the DOJ” crowd rang louder than that of professional conspiracy theorist and devoted Trump sycophant Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who spent most of Monday evening having a public meltdown on Twitter, calling for the impeachment of President Joe Biden, accusing Democrats of “radicalizing our federal law enforcement to take political enemies out,” and posting an image of an upside-down American flag followed by an all-caps rallying cry: “DEFUND THE FBI!”

Texas Woman Charged With Murder for ‘Self-Induced Abortion’
Following passage of state’s restrictive SB8 bill, 26-year-old Starr County woman arrested for “intentionally and knowingly” causing “death of an individual”

A 26-year-old Texas woman was arrested and charged with murder Thursday after allegedly performing a “self-induced abortion.”

Lizelle Herrera remained in custody with a bond set at $500,000 after “intentionally and knowingly cause[d] the death of an individual by self-induced abortion,” the Starr County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Friday.

Herrera’s arrest comes seven months after Texas’ SB8 (or the “Heartbeat Act”) went into effect, a law that bans abortions after six weeks, or before when many women would realize they’re pregnant. SB8 — the most restrictive anti-abortion bill in the U.S. and the basis of copycat laws sprouting up in states like Idaho — has faced legal challenges since it went into effect Sept. 1, 2021, but the Texas Supreme Court ultimately ruled in favor of the bill in March. The U.S. Supreme Court also declined to block the law, despite some dissent.

Additionally, SB8 allows for citizens to sue anyone who “aids or abets” in the procedure, a “bounty” of sorts aimed specifically at abortion providers.

The Sheriff’s Office did not provide details regarding the alleged abortion. However, Rockie Gonzalez of the La Frontera Fund — a Texas-based abortion assistance group, told Texas Public Radio, “What is alleged is that [Herrera] was in the hospital and had a miscarriage and divulged some information to hospital staff, who then reported her to the police.”

Gonzalez added, “This is a developing story and we don’t yet know all the details surrounding this tragic event, what we do know is that criminalizing pregnant people’s choices or pregnancy outcomes, which the state of Texas has done, takes away people’s autonomy over their own bodies, and leaves them with no safe options when they choose not to become a parent.”

A recent study by the University of Texas found that, between Aug. an Dec. 2021, approximately 1,400 Texas women traveled each month to neighboring states like Arkansas, Colorado and Louisiana for abortions.

CPAC Speaker Calls for Transgenderism to Be ‘Eradicated’

THE RIGHT’S WAR on queer and trans people took center stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference as Daily Wire host Michael Knowles openly called for the public eradication of transgenderism. During his speech on Saturday, Knowles told the crowd, “For the good of society… transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely — the whole preposterous ideology, at every level.”

A number of people on Twitter, including Media Matters’ John Knefel and Harvard Law Cyber Clinic’s Alejandra Caraballo, called his remarks genocidal. Tragically, Knowles’ ideology is right in line with Republican politicians who have enacted or introduced bans on drag performances, restrictions on transgender health care, bills that would ban trans people from using the bathroom corresponding with their gender identity, and laws like Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” that bars teachers from teaching about sexual orientation or gender identity. The Movement Advancement Project (MAP), a group that tracks LGBTQ legislation, described these efforts as an ongoing “war against LGBTQ people in America and their very right and ability to openly exist.”

"If anybody wants to believe that they are the descendants of a primate, they are certainly welcome to do it."

...

"If you're with Jesus Christ, we know how it turns out in the final moment," he said. "I've read the last chapter in the book, and we do end up winning."

..."When I press him on whether he believes all non-Christians are eternally damned, Huckabee is evasive. "Being president isn't about picking who goes to heaven and who goes to hell," he says. When none other than Bill O'Reilly hammered him on the same point a day later, Huckabee conceded that "I believe Jesus is the way to heaven."

...One of his first acts as governor was to block Medicaid from funding an abortion for a mentally retarded teenager who had been raped by her stepfather — an act in direct violation of federal law, which requires states to pay for abortions in cases of rape. "The state didn't fund a single such abortion while Huckabee was governor," says Dr. William Harrison of the Fayetteville Women's Clinic. "Zero."

..."Science changes with every generation and with new discoveries, and God doesn't," he says. "So I'll stick with God if the two are in conflict."

...At one appearance, Huckabee — who's been known to make fart jokes in front of the state legislature — said he would oppose gay marriage "until Moses comes down with two stone tablets from Brokeback Mountain saying he's changed the rules." And he recently scored a rare offend trifecta, simultaneously pissing off immigrants, Jews and the pro-choice crowd when he ludicrously claimed that a "holocaust" of abortions had artificially created a demand for Mexican labor.

Kids who grow up listening to foulness end up foul in most cases, or with just a veneer of adapting to moral society. Is it genetic? So you've actually co-authored a study to prove that hypothesis? Is that why it continues to increase? Is that why the first cases were diagnosed 4 years after vaccines arrived in the1930s? Its very easy to say its genetics as a cop out. Perhaps predisposed genetics play a role. Nevertheless, vaccines are still the catalyst. Autism isn't down syndrome. THAT is genetic in nature. Autism is physiological in nature and only brought on by an influence. Perhaps environmental, perhaps certain ingredients in vaccines. Studies do show aluminum's relationship to depletion of neurological function that does mimic what we see in autistic children. It IS rather of poor taste for you to blame it on pure genetics while mocking parents who witness their children regress in the days and weeks following a vaccination.

"Bleeech!" puked the bald man behind me.

Within about a minute after that, the whole chapel erupted in pandemonium. About half the men and three-fourths of the women were writhing around and either play-puking or screaming. Not wanting to be a bad sport, I raised my hand for one of the life coaches to see.

"Need . . . a . . . bag," I said as he came over.

Chris Cantwell #racist #psycho rollingstone.com

(Hey all, Weepy Bitch is threatening to totes annihilate the eeeeeevil Left if they don’t stop upholding laws and prosecuting weak-willed murderers!)

Chris Cantwell, a.k.a. the “Crying Nazi,” responded to the conviction of James Fields, who was found guilty of first-degree murder for plowing a car into protesters in Charlottesville, by threatening “complete and total destruction” of “Charlottesville and the broad left” in a post on social network Gab.

On Friday, Fields, who killed paralegal and civil rights activist Heather Heyer, was convicted of first-degree murder as well as hit and run and aggravated malicious wounding of eight of the 35 people who were injured by his vehicle. Fields had driven from his home in Ohio to Charlottesville to attend the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally, organized by white supremacist nationalists.

In his post, Cantwell claimed the conviction would create “an army of fanatics who are ready to die” and “drive us toward [Charlottesville and the left’s] complete and total destruction, as a matter of necessity for our very survival.” But, contrarily, Cantwell also distanced himself and his followers from Fields, describing him as as “best as I can tell… a good, if troubled man” but claimed he was “not a soldier” in their movement. Because apparently “good, if troubled” men intentionally send their car careening into a crowd of innocent people.

Cantwell earned the nickname of the “Crying Nazi” when he posted a video of himself crying when he learned there was a warrant out for his arrest for his role in the violence in Charlottesville. “One minute I’m a fucking white supremacist terrorist and the next minute I’m a fucking crybaby?” he whined to The Daily Beast in an interview after his arrest. “I’m a goddamn human being.”

In May, he claimed to be an FBI informant, although the claim appears to be unsubstantiated. Cantwell was also banned from dating platform OkCupid “for life” after his profile went viral in the wake of the Charlottesville rally.
