This bloke’s an interesting character. He’s the playboy son of a Greek shipping magnate who disappointed his dad by not doing anything useful, and became a columnist instead, later using his money to become a publisher.
He is a Nazi sympathiser who has financed Richard Spencer. He saw the German occupation of Greece as a small boy and had happy times sitting on the knee of the Nazi officer occupying his house singing songs while the officer played the piano.
He’s a long-term writer for the Spectator magazine. While Boris Johnson was editor of the Spectator, Boris was fully aware of his Nazi sympathies and refused to get rid of him.
His columns promote the manly virtues of courage and honour but mostly engage in prolonged bitching about other rich people.
He has claimed friendships with Bob Geldof, Princess Diana and Osama bin Laden.
His dog is called Benito, after Mussolini.
He professes to be a gentleman, but instead is somewhat… tacky?
