The thing about Common Core, is when people go complaining about it, they complain about some weird way of dealing with math problems, ignore that several methods are being taught instead of just one, and that those weird methods are actually mental math tricks, some of which I had independently developed myself as a child, because no one would bother to teach them. Basically, the way these parents are complaining kids aren’t learning is just the standard written form, following every individual step for all situations, despite little tricks making it much quicker and easier.

The stupidest part is these are the same people who in the last few decades have complained that kids barely out of high school have to depend on the cash register at McDonald’s and Wal-Mart to tell them what the change is, despite the fact that the only methods kids have been taught for decades to do math is either by writing everything out, which they don’t have time to do, or using a calculator … which the fucking cash register is just a big, expensive calculator! Now, they want to complain that kids are being taught methods that will help them do the mental math to figure out their change without the register having to tell them what it is. Basically, they just want to bitch. I can do that too.

DPRK military and police are heavily armed. And yes they’ll use those weapons on civilians who don’t fall in line.

The police will even take part in arresting a dissident’s entire family, and keeping them all locked up in work camps until the dissident’s grandchildren are dead.

But then they demanded paramedics, who worked for the same municipal system, to come to the site of a shooting. I’m sorry to tell everyone here, but paramedics are not supposed to go into those situations without a police escort, and as asshole as some of Weinstein’s followers sound, one consequence of secession is you no longer receive services of the nation and government you’ve seceded from.

Yes, cops in many places have been assholes, and their departments have protected these assholes, but secession isn’t going to accomplish anything unless they’re ready to actually establish their own government and their own services, because this is exactly what’s going to keep happening in the future.
