And the Dude Bros seem to have assumed that Trump winning means they no longer have to worry about being called sexist or chauvinist pigs and can say and do whatever they want when it comes to women, based on their behavior since the election.
Musk, OTOH, has higher goals; it looks like he plans on being the guy in Trump’s ear for the next four years, “advising” him to make Elmo’s businesses vital to the United States government and basically hand regulatory power over to him. He’s already in court arguing that American advertisers should be required by force of law to do business with Twitter (that is, advertisers can choose to advertise on BlueSky, Mastodon and other social media sites, but if they’re advertising, they HAVE to include Twitter), and he’s been pushing Trump to cancel any rural Internet plans in favor of simply requiring rural folk to buy Starlink subscriptions.
Musk wants to guarantee that he walks away with a huge chunk of the government’s business. Assuming he walks away.
