mate, people back then didn’t think Aircraft carriers were that important in terms of naval warfare, shit back then every Navy worth their steel had BATTLESHIPS as the backbone of their navies, including the US, the reason why Japan didn’t try and find and bomb those ships during their attack was because they didn’t think they’d be that important, the US didn’t and forced to rely on them since half of their battleships was now sitting at the bottom of the harbor, which turned out to be better then they ever thought or dreamed since it became pretty apparent that was the future of naval warfare which Japan rushed to compete with since now their battleships were more or less obsolete.

Sidenote, Japan wanted fuel to feed their conquest of China and the Far East and the US wasn’t going to sell them oil so Japan’s military leaders thought they could bully the US into accepting their demands but instead piss them off. For someone who claims Democrats are “weak, spinless leaders” you sure have a habit of SURRENDERING to anyone that threatens you or are you just pissed that Japan’s attack also resulted in Nazi Germany declaring war on the US a day after the bombing and that in turn resulted in Nazi Germany losing the war?
