Does that sound like their lives are ruined to you? Seriously, the worst thing that might happen to you IRL is that a handful of people and social settings might not want you around anymore. Meanwhile trans people are getting murdered. Get the fuck over yourself.
Also, genital surgery is completely optional. It's not the end goal of all trans people. And even if it was - why would it be worse than the risks involved with penile enlargement surgeries, breast augmentations, labioplasties or sclera tattoos? Why are those fine?
And finally - yes, people who feel they should be amputees sometimes get their limb amputated by doctors, because the alternative is a great risk of self-harm. You should have looked that up before saying that.
