Even population or if Slavs are a bit less, they end up being occupied and ruled. Looking at history they need about a 20-1 ratio. This is mostly about certain gene pools getting the upper hand on other gene pools. Generally speaking, Slavs gain the upper hand when they VASTLY outnumber their neighbors. When they don't, they usually end up occupied, dominated and in many cases enslaved. There are a few thousand years of evidence behind this.
You mean, like when the Kievan Rus conducted several succesful wars against the Khazars, despite those two polities being roughly equal in population terms?
Or when the Russians and others managed to turn the tables against the Mongols after learning how to fight them, despite the Mongols still ruling a massive amount of territory and people when that started to happen?
Or when the various Slavic polities bordering them managed to, more or less, keep an equilibrium of force with the Byzantine Empire, despite that empire having an equivalent population, or even a populational advantage, and much more advanced tech?
Or when the Teutonic Order’s attempts to expant eastward ended in a spectacular failure, despite their quite numerous and well-trained forces?
I could go on, but this idiot really doesn’t deserve that much.
Here’s five words you might not like if you want to derisively compare Slavs to others: “Inequality-Adjusted Human Development Index”

Despite a pretty massive disadvantage in per capita GDP and income, just about every Slavic nation here beats some richer North American, Western European, or East Asian one. Slovenia and Czech Republic are above Belgium, the U.K., Austria, Canada, New Zealand, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Singapore, France and Israel. Slovakia and Poland are above the U.S.A., Italy, Cyprus and South Korea. Croatia is above Greece and Belarus is above Spain.
If Slavs really can’t compete with others on even ground, then what does that say about the countries who lose to them in this area despite having a massive advantage in GDPs? And even better, what does that imply about how that list would look like if, instead of being at a disadvatage, the Slavic nations would compete with others on equal terms, or even had an advantage?
