I think the whole “the left is trying to make everything political/is trying to force its ideology upon us/is angry and unhappy” is an unfortunately somewhat working try to use the growing frustration and disinterest with and in politics in general (carefully catered to by the right by the way) to the right’s advantage. People don’t have the energy anymore or the will to engage in politics, so by claiming they are the status quo, the rational calm ones, the ones who want to keep “politics” out of people’s lives is sadly something that many people like (even if, as should be obvious, none of these claims are true).
For many, “politics” is anything that upsets the cushy status quo they have been born in, so any progressive and most leftist policies are “political”, “ideological” and even “hysterical” for them and therefore seen in a negative light, while reactionary and conservative policies are just how things are and are therefore unfairly not associated with these traits.
I understand where this form of ignorance is coming from, but it is still very infuriating that people fall for this.

The infuriating thing about Incels, and in fact most of the reactionary movements that sprung up in recent years, is their extremely superficial thinking about potentially real problems (often exaggerated into ludicrousness).
There is a mental health problem among men, especially younger ones, and also often coinciding with loneliness. And in some ways (usually when it comes to physical actions) people tend to be more generous and kind towards women than to men (though nowhere near to the degree that incels think is the case).
Now you could go the Incel route and blow these things entirely out of proportion while not thinking once about what might be the reason for it (except “women and feminism bad and evil”). Or you could see that this is most likely due to us being in a transitional phase of the previously strong patriarchy being slowly (and for the better) dismantled. This means that certain toxic ideas like “men have to be strong and stoic and have to care for themselves while women are frail and dependent” are still ingrained in many people’s minds (with all the negative effects that entails), while at the same time the previous “perks” of women being forced to marry due to being unable to be independent financially are falling away.
Now if Incels ACTUALLY wanted to be treated better, they would be against these toxic remnants and therefore on the side of most feminists, but on the contrary, they double down on these and simply blame women for all the ills they allegedly go through. This either tells me that they are too stupid to realize the actual ills (toxic masculinity and hyperindividualism in a capitalist society intermingling) or simply don’t care as long as it only hurts women, not themselves. Either way: superficial, shortsighted, deluded.

Just to give you some peace of mind: most of the apparent ‘rise in crime’ is a) not real, but fearmongering (mostly by the right, but even liberals dabble in it from time to time), crime has been going down for decades now, especially in the West (interestingly correlating with lead being phased out of fuel and other goods), it is less severe in less ‘hard on crime’ states like Norway and b) being ‘hard on crime’ usually does almost nothing to actually combat it, since it ignores the main sources for crime being a thing in the first place:
poverty, gentrification and wrongheaded policies when it comes to the prison system.
There will always be some form of crime even with these out of the way, but it will severely decrease. What doesn't help at all is the continuing militarization of the police and giving them more and more rights at the expense of civil liberties.

Usually I would agree, but the BB’s “satire” is so flimsily hidden hate and bigotry that I almost wouldn’t count it as such. Aside from that very last punchline (not a great joke, but at least you could construe it as dark humor somewhat) there is no real humor in it. It is played WAY too straight for that to be the case. Satire about this topic would make it clear how preposterous this scenario would be and that it has nothing to do with how Democrats are in reality. It would be a parody of Republican views basically. But it is not. Nothing indicates that this is even seen as that much of an exaggeration.
Conservative comedy and satire are entirely focused on pushing the “we are good, they are bad” message, without any self-reflection or ability to at least construe a good joke out of it. Basically, stuff from BB deserves to be here because it shows how far conservatives have fallen in that regard.

I think Dr Who always had its ups and downs, singling out the most recent series is dumb. Whittaker's era had good stories too, it was not all bad all the time. And I don't even know where the OP is getting from that Capaldi was disliked that much, he had a lot of great episodes. On the other hand I find many episodes of Tennant's era pretty bad, but I still like him a lot as the Doctor. Same for all the others. The quality of the writing notwithstanding (it fluctuates), so far I haven't seen one actor of the Doctor who ‘didn't fit’ and brought nothing unique to the table.

It bears repeating: So far it is still not clear how much influence the environment has on the alleged “biological differences” when it comes to men and women, though we do know that many of the constantly reiterated alleged differences have been exaggerated due to cultural bias against women (one example, namely alleged better spatial awareness of men, is only ever a thing in small studies which do not take into account stereotype bias and their results were never repeated in larger scale studies). There are of course some differences, but they are mostly on average (like the upper body strength one; no, not every man has higher upper body strength than any woman, or even the potential for it).
Since women have historically been discouraged from competitive sports altogether and even after the establishment of woman’s sports they don’t get funded and trained to a similar degree than men, it is almost impossible to say whether the differences are cultural or biological in nature (and the success of certain female athletes who outcompeted their male peers is to be noted as well).
Basically this is abusing biology to enforce a misogynist and transphobic ideology, and I despise how much pop culture is infused with bullshit that ends with “it’s just a biological fact”. No. No it is not.

From what I understand (and this is coming from an outsider’s perspective too), this gun fetishism has its roots in the extremely warped relationship of many Americans with both their own government and the concept of individual freedom. For many, the government is always evil, at least if it is not aligning with their favorite party, though strangely enough they will still talk badly about the concept of government and the state while praising their favorite party/politician in power, as if they were separate from each other. Taxes especially are viewed only in the sense of “taking away from me” than “giving to the community I am part of”, since the gun nuts see their own individual freedom and wealth as paramount, even if it comes at the expense of everyone else (and often the concept of equality guaranteed by the government is anathema to them too). They really believe that having so many weapons will protect them (somehow) from outside interference to their (often right-wing, christo-fascist) worldview and way of life, especially from potentially “liberal” governments and people. In unfortunately many cases they also believe that they can uphold some form of pseudo-segregation and oppression at least in their immediate surroundings using guns.
Having a gun has become a sort of symbol of being “free”, of being able to secure yourself from having to adapt to changing circumstances and do whatever you want if push comes to shove to people you don’t like. It is similar in that regard to the false symbol of cars as the ultimate expression of freedom of mobility (which is why it is so hard to get US cities to be structured for the needs of pedestrians or bikers). Hyperindividualism in a late stage capitalist society at its finest.

There is also once again a difference in scope and intention: species dying out due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, with losses that enable other species to fill in the now open niches is unfortunate but fine, not much to be done about it. Thousands of species, some of which we don't even know about, dying out due to our rampant negligence and greed in a manner that is affecting entire ecosystems and is close to a mass extinction event already? There is also a smaller difference (at least for me) between ‘species dying out due to our greed’ and ‘species dying out that are specifically targeted due to their impact on us or on the environment’ (i.e. parasites being forced towards extinction). I know that this view is contentious too in certain philosophical schools, but I think it is in the right of every species to defend itself from its own predators and parasites (this does not include killing off all non-domesticated mega fauna and predators for convenience of agriculture mind you).
Still, even if we kill off certain parasitic worms or mosquito species entirely, I would want them to be remembered. A species is something quite unique (from our point of view definitely) and while losing them is to a degree unavoidable or necessary in rarer cases, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't keep them and their traits in our memories. That's what's also so deeply disturbing for me about so many species being lost before we are even able to identify them.

This sounds more and more unhinged the farther it goes. So apparently gravity isn’t real, electromagnetism isn’t real, and therefore relativistic effects are also not happening, making it pretty much impossible for our universe to be how we perceive it to be. I don’t even know how to classify this brain fart (farts apparently having the same mechanism as planetary formation, so that’s something too). But just a few things that would be impossible to explain in this “model”:

- Electromagnetism itself (how do turbines and generators work if electricity and magnetism are completely seperate from each other or worse, opposite from each other somehow?)
- The attractive force of our planet keeping us here, keeping our solar system, galaxy and galactic clusters relatively stable (since electromagnetism loses its strength WAY quicker over increasing distance than the allegedly nonexistent gravity)
- Our sun (what is the opposing force to its expansion by heat? Certainly not electromagnetism)
- Many smaller observations (the color of gold, the now superfluous time correction for GPS in orbit, the orbit of mercury, the behavior of light, especially near large masses and many, many more)

Oh and apparently OP also thinks zero should be excised from math? One of the greatest inventions in the history of the world? Basically sounds like a contrarian with no idea what he is talking about, thinking of himself as a genius.

I have to admit, I don’t like that the media jumps at every small (willfull or not) provocation by Trump. I feel like it is a cycle that only benefits him and his whining about being a victim, as well as giving him way too much attention:
1. He says something that CAN be interpreted as insane/stupid/horrifying (and probably is), but with leeway to easily backtrack on it if needed.
2. The media jumps at the chance of “exposing” that, instead of targeting something more substantial, like his policies for example.
3. He and his followers use the leeway to paint him as being misconstrued and as evidence that there is a “witch hunt” against him. It’s basically great PR.
4. Rinse and repeat.

There is much wrong with this post, but one thing I want to really point out: Evolution is not theleological! It has no goals, and these species didn’t “want” to develop a certain way. It happened due to environmental pressures, genetic variation and certain stochastic processes over many many generations. The funny thing is that your strawman of what evolution is, that you declare to be “dumb”, is way more similar to creation myths than to the actual theory of evolution (the only difference being that god wanted the changes and just made them happen instead of the species). I know it’s fruitless, but let’s break it down a bit:
First of all, there are some studies who allege that mRNA from vaccines can be reverse-transcripted into the genome again (method unclear, but could be error-prone reverse transcriptase from viruses or potentially retrotransposons). This is a very random process that (even if true) has pretty much no effect on the person it’s happening to. At worst it is yet another particle of viral origin which clutters our genomes (they are absolutely filled with those), and for that it would have to happen in the germline cells, otherwise it wouldn’t even be inherited by the next generation. Not to mention that we are constantly bombarded with foreign mRNA, specifically from viruses (and if they are active, our own inherited retrotransposons), not to mention our own mRNA, which in theory can also be reverse transcripted to a foreign part of our genome under unlucky circumstances, so that’s not even something unique to the vaccines.

Secondly, there are no genes which uniquely make us “Asian”, “Black”, “White” or what have you, that’s racist pseudoscience at its worst. In fact, there are (and I am not tired of repeating that yet again) no alleles that are unique for any such groups. The differences between them are miniscule.

And thirdly, how the hell would an mRNA coding for part of a viral protein induce these imagined changes in “race”? That’s multiple steps too far even if you accepted all the previous statements I looked at now. If the vaccine contains DNA you wouldn’t even have to worry, because there is no method for random foreign DNA to be directly integrated into our genomes. And I am pretty sure that whole “vaccines contains DNA of babies” thing is crap anyway.

And lastly: Even if (and I am leaving the boundaries of reality for this one), even if this was actually true and somehow this changes a baby’s genome in such a way that it gets traits that make it look like another ethnic group, so fucking what? Not everyone is so disgustingly focused on racial purity as you, Tucker. Better having a healthy “asian” kid, then having none due to dying of preventable diseases I would say.

So in short: Fuck off Tucker, glad you are losing your unearned public attention.

I definitely didn't take into account that supporting them could also bury them like that, have to thank you for making that clear. I may just be very tired of how much focus is in this conflict on who is more righteous in their war crimes and deserves to be internationally acknowledged for it and who doesn't.

And it doesn't surprise me at all that this conflict has already devolved into the 'the other side (aka every single Palestinian/Israeli) is purely, unrepentantly evil and we are totally justified in acting the way we do against them (including war crimes)’, that's what dehumanization does. Since the Westbank palestinians also have to deal with militarized illegal settlers, constant pressure from the IDF (which is sometimes even forced to take orders from the same settlers) and a discriminating system that allows them to be treated like criminals and removed from their homes, I can understand (not support at all) that they think even that horrible attack against the Israelis by Hamas is good. Constant dehumanization on both sides, constant cycles of revenge/counter-revenge, increasing isolation from each other and a survivor mentality on both sides make it almost impossible to break through this mess. Yet I will still say that at least other states shouldn't support this spiral by siding with one of them and dehumanizing the other.

I feel like here in Germany every time I agree to Israel having a right to exist and defend itself, someone immediately takes this up and tells me that therefore all their war crimes in Gaza are entirely justified and that they are happy I agree with that, while another denounces me for agreeing to 'colonialist, fascist ideologies'. On the other hand, if I try to tell people that the way Israel handles this crisis is horrendous in my view and that the situation is more complex than just 'Palestinians equal Hamas and evil antisemites' and that they too are suffering, which needs to stop, someone comes along and tells me I am an antisemite as well, and that the right of Israel to defend itself trumps the Palestinians human rights. And someone else agrees with me and starts going on about Israel being a genocidal apartheid state that needs to be removed from the face of the Earth and Hamas also never did anything wrong.

Even if it is a lost cause (saying that as an idealist at heart) I would never accept either of these sides. And if there is only a small number of Israelis and Palestinians who think similarly (and I bet there are) then I would still say we should do what we can to support them (though, as you said, in such a way that it doesn’t bury them entirely).

Germany has often been a bit too uncritical when it comes to Israel’s government in this conflict even if that is to the detriment of the Israelis themselves for my tastes, but stating that we are losing sight of our own history by being protective of the country that was created as a reaction to it is bogus and unhelpful.
I personally think that Germany’s government doesn’t listen enough to Israelis and jewish people who are critical of Israel’s current government, those are the people we should support, so that Netanjahu and the extremists in his party (who are even pushing for violently colonizing the Westbank, which went too far even for Netanjahu himself) are pushed out asap.
Seeing only one side of the issue and trying to equate Hamas with Palestinians and the current Israeli government and parts of the IDF with Israelis in general for easy “good vs bad” narratives should be avoided overall.

EDIT: My bad, the extremists are actually pushing for violently colonizing GAZA (which Netanjahu opposed), while militarizing the illegal settlers in the Westbank. I misremembered.

This sounds like a kinda satirical, world-building data point from the Horizon series or some cyberpunk novel, it’s so ludicrous (of both sides). Unfortunately for the Navajo, the moon indeed doesn’t belong to anyone specifically. We all share it. It is simply a giant planetoid in our orbit, we have been there already and quite a few times. Either the desecration already happened multiple decades ago or there is no such thing. Trying to deny that to anyone now on the basis of a specific culture is not something you should be able to enforce, it would cause an enormous amount of problems worldwide in fact.

On the other hand, rich people sending their useless ashes onto the moon to basically be there until the end of the solar system (probably yet another egocentric idea along the lines of “this will force everyone to look up to me whenever they look up to the moon” or some such nonsense) is asinine too, bad for the environment and bad for scientific investigation (we could have used the potential weight load that we lose on these dumb ideas to send way more interesting stuff up there). There are many things simply wrong about this if you are NOT completely sold on capitalism as the best system humanity could ever come up with, but even in its context this is wrong. It’s not the billionaire who generates workforce (no matter how often they whine about their alleged workload and “responsibilities” being the reason for their insane wealth accumulation), that’s the workers. It’s not the billionaire who has the unique, inborn ability to invest, or run and build a corporation, anybody with a certain amount of capital could do that. In fact, the “one billionaire ruling over the workers of his company” model has its alternatives (holacratic organization for example). If every single billionaire were to die right now, and we would take on the mammoth task of redistributing their wealth and capital among all of us, I bet the world would actually be a better place in the end. If they just died, pretty much nothing would change, they are not astonishing masterminds who keep the world going, but instead are often born rich already (with our system nearly impossible to lose wealth once you have enough of it) and influential in the worst possible ways (see their influence when it comes to climate change for example).

You know which people would upend the world tomorrow if they vanished? Poor people and workers. In contrast to billionaires, the former actually use most of their money to buy stuff (you know, the thing that actually generates profits) and pay their taxes (you know, that which generates the infrastructure corporations like to use), while without the latter, there is no product to sell. And the next question is how much money fundie priests, televangelists, the churches, right-wing grifters etc have taken from their flocks by pretending, cheating and lying. At the very least, when stuff like plagiarism is brought up in academic circles, it usually means the end of the career of the perpetrator. It’s the worst disgrace for an academic to be found guilty of that.

Yet thousands of televangelists and self-appointed “prophets of god” have lied to their congregations time and time and time again, yet never faced any serious consequences for it, even if they were publicly found guilty of it. Hell, Donald motherfucking Trump, a conman par excellence, who is as guilty as one can be without having been found guilty (yet, and mostly just because the justice system in the US is terrible when it comes to actually finding rich people guilty and punishing them) is seen by many religious people as the second coming of Christ, even as someone who will somehow purge all “liberal” corruption (replacing it with his own I guess).

Do try to remember your own bible for once:
Matthew 7:5 - “You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbour’s eye.”
THAT is certainly a part of Jesus sermons that most fundies like to forget.

I find it honestly fascinating that humanity doesn’t seem to be able to overcome tribal ideas about sex and pregnancy. Without committing to a naturalistic fallacy, just looking at nature, sex is done for a ton of other purposes than just pure procreation in a lot of species, to strengthen social bonds, for apparent pleasure… And one of our closest living relatives, the Bonobos, do it all the time and not bound to a single partner. Now of course that doesn’t mean that humans should have to do it like that. But we obviously never actually acted like sex was for pure procreation and with a single partner. Affairs have been a thing forever, people have had recreational sex since time immemorial. And what is so bad about it?
Like the OP, some say recreational sex objectifies the partner, but that has been happening to women with procreational sex being mandatory as well (reducing them to their role as “baby makers”). I think that would not be an issue at all if we were more open about the whole thing. Not to mention that conservatives use their banning of contraceptions and abortions not out of any actual concerns, but because they WANT to punish recreational sex as harshly as possible, especially for women. That’s not a healthy way to think about the subject at all.

Like similar statistics, they also conveniently forget to show that there are significantly more “black on white” murders (again, as you said, if these even are murders in the legal sense) than random chance and any other combination of arbitrary ethnic lines murders. Since “whites” are still the majority in the US, I would wager that it is difficult to find a significant difference between a murderer killing random people and targeting “whites” only when corrected for demographics, especially since the numbers are pretty small in comparison to the overall murder rate, even using the data from these nazis themselves unquestioned.

Let me cast doubt on you meeting every single one of these. I think I can instead state with great certainty that any transwoman you have met SEEMED to you like one of these frankly disgustingly made up stereotypes and strawmen because of your own biases.
You see what you want to see, you ignore what you like to ignore, reality be damned. Simple as that.
You know what is suspiciously absent in any of these caricatures you created? Why the fuck this means that we should shun these people or their identity. You are so far up your own ass, you assume that making them caricatures and dismissing their identities will automatically cause everyone else to agree with you on the dangers of transpeople existing. It doesn’t (at least if you think at least a little critically about it).
Where is the oh so existential danger for cis women now that transwomen allegedly cause? All I take away from these caricatures is that these are at best people to empathize with, at worst that some of them are creeps or delusional, but not even your own insane libel here makes them feel like a danger at all.
So… what is the reason why I should shun them, question their identity etc? You even fail at libel, which is frankly telling. Just continue pushing each other into ever increasing hysterical fervor about people that don’t impact your life at all.
Oh and no, careful testosterone dosing is not “killing” Transmen, but your efforts to once again patronize them as poor misguided women who (somehow) want to cater to men by transitioning (-> ? -> profit I assume) are noted as well.

Because in their minds the risks shouldn’t be lowered, they should be raised to force abstinence of anything they deem “immoral” through fear. Same goes for drugs. You can tell people like this all day long that punishing the users and furthering both drug use and criminality with senseless and ever increasing “wars on drugs” is pointless, and that the few countries who instead choose to help people with drug problems and put much effort into information campaigns and even going as far as helping heroine addicts get their fix in a secure and measured way, showed huge improvements, and they not only will not believe you, but will double down on their way being necessary.
They want people to stay uninformed and in fear as long as possible, to then use the negative outcomes of this to even further control their lives. Just look at the high rate of teen pregnancies in areas with abstinence only policies in schools. No one can tell me that putting these policies in place is in any way rational.

This is equivocation of two concepts of objectivity. From what I understand, there is philosophical “objectivity”, aka, something not obstructed by human (or anyone’s) perception, opinions and overall condition, basically how reality actually is. With this definition, no, human beings are unable to make purely objective statements about the world. Scientific theories are still subjective to the human consciousness and ability to perceive reality (though they do model reality to an increasing degree thanks to consistent reiteration of the scientific method). An alien species with, let’s say, a non-linear mode of experience of time would probably not get the same scientific theories about it that we do at first (which doesn’t change anything about the worth of scientific theories by the way. It is in my opinion still the best way to find out more about our underlying reality, obviously, and I think even the alien science would converge with ours at some point).
Even then, religions can’t state that their truth statements are objective, or that god somehow creating morals makes them objective (since ultimately, perceptions, believes and conditions very clearly color what religions state are “divine revelations” and as such they are not objective at all, not to mention that God themself might be biased by its own perceptions and limitations, as has been pointed out here).
Whether something like objective morality even exists or can exist is highly debated and unclear anyway (it would have to be some form of fundamental or deeply logically compelling law of the universe any sapient species would abide by without even knowing about it directly, like Kant imagined).
Now in general use, objective just means “independent of the biases and believes of the person making the statement”, and yeah, such objectivity usually doesn’t actually exist either (though scientific results can theoretically be used as a substitute, if they are not cherry-picked and take the researcher’s biases into account). Believers using the kind of argument like the OP does will always get into the worst kind of circular argument:
1. Objective thought/morality/whatever can only be granted by God.
2. Any thought system or morality that doesn’t include God is therefore wrong.
3. Because we believe in God, we are always objective and right.
4. Therefore Statement 1 must be true. Therefore the rest of the argument is true.
Or to reduce it to the essentials: “I believe God exists and that God is perfectly objective, therefore everything I believe in is perfectly objective and everyone else is subjective and wrong, therefore God exists.”
It’s quite dumb and lazy. Pretty much troll logic.

To be quite frank, for me people like Claire (who I barely know anything about aside from what has been posted here or what Niam told me about her) and CKR or hell, even the Ovarit crowd are too delusional to care much about after a while. It’s telling that they all in some way shape or form say that we are sexual deviants of the worst kinds for some reason (simply argumentum ex culo), that they consistently misrepresent us and seem to believe that they have some mysterious insight into our actual motivations and private information.
Any non-bad faith actor looking into this site with a bit more than a cursory glance will see that they are talking out of their asses. Anyone else might as well not look at all and just further venture into their own persecution complexes.

Aside from the appalling homophobia and biphobia on display here, as a polyamorist I also find it disgusting that that is equated with bestiality and pedophilia (as others have said, informed consent is key here on why these things are not the same as polyamory and homosexuality). And in addition to that, does he think that there are laws against polyamory? Polygamy, sure, that can be outlawed, but does he seriously think that the state can and should prohibit people from falling in love with multiple people at the same time?
