tldr; she's arguing that all objections to trans rights boil down to a cultural anxiety to force women to keep churning out babies. Trans rights break that paradigm - some of her argument acknowledges the sterility issue but 90% of it is "look, Putin is all for traditional family values and he hates LGBT and this is true of Trump and Vance too, therefore these issues are clearly linked."

If trans rights break the cultural anxiety to force women to keep churning babies in half, then defense of trans rights is no less than defense of reproductive rights.

I can kind of see where this comes from because I know some academics still tying themselves in knots, but I just feel her analysis misses a lot of things.

So I just finished reading Orwell's 1984 and the irony can't be lost that a "Big Brother" "Star" has reported J.K. Rowling to the Thought Police.

So in the book, the children of the Party undergo "elaborate mental training" and in "Newspeak" terms, this involves "crimestop, blackwhite, and doublethink." Crimestop is where one realizes one is thinking a thoughtcrime and must censor oneself immediately.

The first and simplest stage in the discipline, which can be taught even to young children, is called, in Newspeak, crimestop. Crimestop means the faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought.

If you've ever been an active member in leftist spaces, you know exactly what this feels like. To even entertain the idea that a TiM shouldn't be in some women's sports for example would be a heresy.

Then blackwhite, which is literally training onself to believe that black is white or 2 and 2 make 5, if that's what the Party says to believe.

Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary. This demands a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as doublethink.

And honestly to believe a man can be a woman, to know a man can be a woman, and stopping yourself from believing or ever saying otherwise, has quite clearly been warned against in one of the most prescient dystopian novels to have been written.

I do recommend reading 1984 by George Orwell. I will note that the book can be extremely misogynistic at times, but I think it makes sense in a book where everyone is literally trained to be, as the book describes, stupid and hateful.

Big Brother is Watching. Let's see what the Thought Police verdict against J.K. Rowling brings. If the result is dystopic, I believe we need to react accordingly.

Recent legislation has made me extremely optimistic. (Almost all gender critical legislation is coming from the Republican Party though, as Democrats continue to double down on gender ideology and alienate voters). Regardless of which party is passing it, we should celebrate the progress we've made in the U.S to protect women's sex-based rights!

When it comes to gender critical legislation, we've come a long way from 2019. A few examples:

- 25 states now ban TIMs from competing in women's sports. This is a huge change from 2019, when 0 states had this legislation in place.
- 22 states ban the chemical castration of minors ("puberty blockers") and ban butchers from performing double mastectomies / phalloplasty / vaginoplasty on children. A HUGE WIN for child safeguarding!!
- 10 states have some version of a bathroom bill on the books which enshrine in law that bathrooms and locker rooms are single-sex facilities
- 7 states ban the teaching of gender ideology in K-12 schools (unfortunately, teaching about LGB is also censored as a result, as the TQ have linked themselves via the alphabet soup)
- 3 states have passed the WoLF sponsored Women's Bill of Rights in 2023, with more posed to pass it this year
- 2 states restrict drag performances from being performed around children
Half the country has made enourmous progress on this issue. I hope the Democrats will be forced to come around eventually as more of their base peaks.

Dysphoria, as these people like to think of it, doesn't exist. It's a made up concept, sort of like the whole "multiple personalities" schtick. No, you do not have this fictional condition that makes you unable to function in your own body.

What you're experiencing are feelings of self-consciousness, envy, shame, anxiousness, and dissatisfaction that every person on earth feels, except unlike most people who deal with these feelings in healthy ways and learn to let them go, you've obsessed over them to the point where it's all you think about.

That is what "real dysphoria" is. Self-centeredness to the point of not being able to function correctly.

Either that or sexual compulsions brought on by paraphilia that you indulge in to the point that they become a behavioral addiction that, like all other addictions, is hard to break and causes you "discomfort" when you stop indulging in it.

Edit: I'd also like to add that addictions tend to take over all of your thoughts and begin to consume you and you end up centering your entire life around them. These people don't need "gender care." They need addiction rehab.

Like many other addictions (food, drugs, hoarding, alcohol) this addiction may have come about due to adverse childhood experiences. Regardless, that's no excuse for allowing your addiction to derail your own life and the lives of others. Stop using examples of little gay boys calling themselves girls because they don't understand homosexuality yet, are afraid of being bullied, and don't actually know the physical differences between sexes, therefore associate being men and women with superficial sexist stereotypes to excuse your own perversions or your own behavioral addictions.

Leave the rest of us alone and get some help. Seriously.

Relatable. I felt a lot of empathy at first for those feeling gender dysphoria because of course I could relate to it. I think a large majority of women and girls in the world do relate to not wanting to be female at least a few different points in our lives, for a variety of reasons. I still even feel some empathy for the TIFs who aren’t too far gone and unhinged. But the type of mental illness that TIMs is very different. It’s terrifying. And the way that TIPs and TRAs rally together to be abusive towards primarily the women who speak up against them. It disgusts me so much. Men have breasts yes, but the breast tissue is not as developed compared to a woman. If you have to induce both the growth of the breast tissue along with the production of milk with massive amounts of hormones and other medicine can you really say that it’s healthy and safe? Where are the studies showing that the milk produced by a transwoman is sufficient and healthy for a child? Is it really ethical? The study they love citing is based on a group made up of women who were not pregnant , trans identified females and trans identified males.

Woman who can’t produce milk are simply told to give formula and even women who breastfeed have to stick to a specific diet.

I don’t see the point of supporting this abomination just for the sake of “gender euphoria”. The funny thing is that if they ever manage to normalize this they’ll immediately want something else, menstruation , giving birth etc. they’ll never be satisfied , because they’re chasing something unattainable.

It's a deliberate attempt to paint us as villains. Because to most liberals, conservatives are villains, so if someone doesn't have the "approved" view on gender ideology, TRAs have decreed that it must be because we're conservative in our hearts.

I'm a moderate overall, and I think moderates, liberals, and conservatives should be able to agree on how badly gender ideology is affecting women and children for many of the same reasons. It's wrong to sterilize kids. I think all sides can agree on that because we all believe kids have the right to grow up with their bodies intact and not altered by hormonal disruption.

I expected there to be public outrage after Imane Khelif. But business as usual. No one woke up after watch that man hit that woman. I really dont get it. Even if a woman dies in a boxing match. I still dont think men or people paid by men to push the TRA narrative will care at all. And I dont think we're ever going to get to some of these normies either. Its really dispiriting hearing people say Carini was a cry baby and a bad loser and weaponising her femininity and all sorts of other nonsense. People clearly just hate women.

Maybe im in a particularly upsetting place with my mood. What do the women here think? do you have more reason to think we might ever make it out of this madness? do you think the world will peak at some point?

But the wave of support for Khelif is directed at what people believe is a woman with a DSD. That they're wrong doesn't matter, what matters here is that you can't use that as a way to gauge their support of trans ideology. For a particularly obvious and extreme example, all the Algerian tweets I've read on the topic - and I've read a lot - said something like: "Imane is a woman, we don't support degenerate LGBT shit here".

Obviously this controversy is weaponized by TRAs to claim that TIMs are the same as women with DSDs, that "transphobia" hurts real women too, but I don't think anyone changed their mind over this.

Anyone who wasn't peaked by Lia Thomas, an unambiguous male competing in women's swimming because competing with men would hurt his fee-fees, wasn't going to be peaked by a boxer who may or may not have XY chromosomes according to a federation that people don't trust - again, whether people are right to distrust the IBA is another matter entirely.

The idea that people who don't support gender ideology are on the far-right
One thing that I have noticed being discussed in TRA circles is the notion that the "rise in transphobia" or any "transphobia" (aka critical thinking) is a result of far-right politics; the consideration that center or left leaning people could be gender critical and have "transphobic" opinions doesn't even enter the conversation at all.

I haven't actually come across any far-right gender critical people - conservative sure but nobody who I would consider extremist. It seems to me that the majority of gender critical people I come across are actually left leaning or somewhere in the middle depending on other factors.

Do you think TRAs purposefully ignore this fact because they can't as easily brand left-leaning people as hateful bigots or they are just delusional about it and think that left-leaning people all engage in groupthink and automatically support gender ideology?

I hate this formulation because I feel that opposition to the systemic politicization of trans theory isn’t basically political. I feel that opposing it is a reality, scientific situation.

I am opposed to this not because of my political leanings but because it’s all lies. Humans come in one of two sexes, the end. THAT is the basis of my disagreement with the idea that anyone can change her sex. Sure, as we all know, there are political ramifications, but at base, I’m standing on biological truth. I also get why most of the political fighting against the lie of trans is freedom of belief/speech, but I kind of hate it. Understanding the reality of human reproduction is not an OPINION.

Here's what I suspect this means for me, a transwidow, if I were to seek out therapy for the trauma I experienced in my marriage (I'm now divorced) when my then husband declared he was "a woman in a man's body" and started acting out objectionable, misogynistic, pornified stereotypes of woman and sucked me into participating in his sexual acting out of them. The therapist will blame me for the breakdown of my marriage and try to re-educate me.

My brother's friend works as a psychiatrist. He sees quite a few people who call themselves "trans". He says they're all seriously mentally messed up individuals (hence the need for psychiatric care even after they've had this miracle "transition" cure that's supposed to suddenly make them these happy, healthy individuals and make their anxiety and depression/suicidal thoughts disappear like magic. They all have a host of other issues, which of course is why they claim "trans" identities in the first place and which don't go away just because they start injecting themselves with horse piss extract.

See, there's one sect who see "transgender" and "cisgender" as the fundamental binary. Any person who is transgender is, by definition, not cisgender, and vice versa. Therefore, enbies are a type of transgender.

But there's another sect who divide people into the "binary gendered" or "non binary gendered". Any person who is cisgender is, by definition, binary, but the reverse is not necessarily true. A trans person who sees themselves as exclusively a man or a woman is also a binary gendered person. Therefore, enby does not fall under the "umbrella" of transgender, but rather is actually its own umbrella which trans people may or may not fall under.

If you haven't lurked trans forums and watched the internecine squabbles between these two factions in particular, I really encourage you to give it a try. It's like that old joke:

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump. I ran over and said: "Stop. Don't do it."

Talk to people. Make this visible. People tend to support it when it's an abstraction - then they see real world consequences like Mr. Johnson the math teacher is now Miss Johnson and he's also coaching the cheerleaders and in their locker room. During abortion talks, I bring up the women getting pregnant in prison. Support falters when people see it in real life.

It takes bravery and a willingness to risk the loss of friendship. But more and more people are open to the conversation. Parents are mobilizing. More detransitioners will be suing. We can keep opening people's eyes and that's going to be very effective for women in particular, because so many of our groups and events and communities were given away by other women who thought they were being kind.

Essentially, we can focus on taking back women's spaces and let Democrats know this is not supported by their base. And we can get active locally by seeking leadership positions and then Trojan horsing them just like TRAs Trojan horsed the Left.

You could become a supporter of DIAG (Democrats for An Informed Approach To Gender), it won’t cost you a penny. DIAG is working to educate democratic lawmakers and policy makers at the state and federal levels about the harms of sex-denialism. But to be effective, DIAG needs high numbers of supporters in state and federal districts to convince lawmakers that it is in their own best interest to change course on policies that erase women’s sex-based rights and endanger the health of minors. DIAG also has a forum for supporters that allows them to communicate with other supporters in their state so that they can plan actions and meet-ups.

I keep joking to my Trumper family that I will still vote RFK Jr (who now endorses Trump...), but I think when pen hits paper, I will hold my nose and vote DJT due to my concerns over free speech (as someone else mentioned in this thread), gender identity ideology, and immigration/borders. At the bottom line, I'd vote for any candidate who agrees with me on these issues, and this time around it's DJT.

I don't read it that way though. When they say "all students/people", "all" actually refers to transwomen and other gender specials.

For a long time, I used to be really confused when they say, "Protecting trans rights protects all women". (Or something similar like "Excluding transwomen harms all women".) The way the statement is phrased, I assumed "all women" is a follow up to say that protecting trans rights would also protect biological women. The statement made no sense to me because the infringement on women's rights was precisely what GC feminists were talking about. Until it finally dawned on me that "all women" did not mean us. To them, biological women are the default, and "all women" is the catch-all for transwomen.

In other words, when trans rights are not protected, some women are not protected. Those some women are the transwomen. By protecting trans rights, all women are protected, not just the biological ones.

It's a very sly way of sounding like they care about biological women, when in fact the entire statement is about everyone else except biological women who don't identify as some other gender.

So now, when they say "We support all students/people . . .", it may sound like they are saying they support the girls/women too, but what they're really saying is "We won't consider only the needs and safety of girls/women who are the default. We support ALL students/people". "All" being the trans identifying ones. And no one is excluded.

I swear when they say "all", we need to make them explain clearly what do they mean by "all".

This is a bill that purports to protect children from online exploitation (good! if only!) but sneaks in words that are absolutely shocking. Here is is, talking about “hate crimes”:

320.‍1001 (1) Everyone who commits an offence under this Act or any other Act of Parliament, if the commission of the offence is motivated by hatred based on race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression, is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for life.

And “hate” is defined as

hatred means the emotion that involves detestation or vilification and that is stronger than disdain or dislike; (haine)

This can be used to punish and harass women in so many ways. I feel I’m practically “back in the USSR”. What next? Siberia? Gulag?

I feel like there is a creepy aspect of using inmates for experimental surgeries/medical practices too. Sure, these guys want it, but they're also insane. It's not ethical to do that, and them being prisoners makes it even less ethical (before we get to the idea of taxes paying for it even). I think this has potential to be a disturbing slippery slope. It's not like it'd be the first time incarcerated people would be medically experimented on.

I mean, this is the closest to legalized permanent sterilization of sex offenders that we can reach before it impacts freedom. I think we should cover bottom surgery on males for this reason. Doesn’t matter, most TIMs don’t want SRS. Depending on where you read, either 94% or 96% of trans identified males are fully intact and intend to stay that way. Why do black women support transgenderism?
I stopped following the afro-feminist page called Afrocolectiva because it is immersed in transgenderism. They talk about the lived experiences of black women from different parts of the world in which I feel identified. They have good publications that talk about female genital mutilation. All good until I saw a video of them talking about trans children "debunking the transphobic or terf discourse that children do not have the maturity to question their gender identity."

The video talks about the patriarchal and binary ideas imposed by colonizers on indigenous and black people that reduce trans and non-binary people to their genitals and that the category of woman was introduced by colonizers.

I saw another video about a black female athlete who was banned from women's sports for having high testosterone levels and she says it's an injustice to black female athletes. But in the same video they say that they are using this as an excuse to exclude "trans women."

What does that have do with black women!? Black women are women, not males with high or levels of testosterone, castrated penis or fake boobs! I am tired of being compared with men!

I saw another video talking about that blackface is racism. Questioning the fact that they chose a white person to play as Baltasar and not a black person. Why don't they talk about womanface? Why don't they talk about Munroe Bergdof who was chosen as ambassador of the UN Women Committee of the United Kingdom and that he stated that he does not want to hear anything related to the body of human females? Why is the fact that they chose a man as a representative of women not questioned when they could have chosen a woman?

Following non woke black women like Laetitia Kay, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Hibo Wardere is like breathing fresh air. Allowed TIMs to terrorize & impregnate women in prison. Tried to allow the state to take away people’s children if parents don’t put them on cross sex hormones as minors.

I can think of several issues related to women where Republicans are doing a better job legislating than the Dems: keeping women’s sports eligibility open only to females; age-verification for pornographic websites; passing the women’s bill of rights & codifying sex in law.

Your "anti-trans" laws aren't marching people off to the gulags 🙄 only asking that you RESUME using the bathroom/sports/prisons you had zero issues with until genderwoo invaded your life. You're not stopped from sports or scholarships, just the female ones. You're not female = you don't qualify. It's not hard to understand.

The transman gotcha is an over used "card". Any TIF, no matter how much she's transitioned, is still female, and therefore still has the RIGHT to use female only spaces and female only services, because she's female. But she's not forced to - she can use male spaces if she wants - because (1) it would affirm her 🙄 (2) men face little to no threat from a female in a male space. If a TIF like Buck Angel walks into a women's space "presenting as a man", of course she's going to get pushback, but that's not on the women who don't and should not expect males to be in their female-only space. That's on the TIF for taking wrong sex hormones and surgeries to the point where she could possibly be mistaken for an actual man, and not just a masculine woman, a woman with short hair, a woman with a flat chest, or a woman with hirsutism. Because, TRAs, "masculinity" doesn't equal "man", and most peoples' sex, even after heavy modification, is still very obvious.

TIMs however are still the ones with a male body - and so they still can't use female spaces no matter how well they pass, or if they've gotten surgery, or if they were on blockers before puberty. There's not much to explain outside of "females are at risk from males and should have the right to female single sexed spaces".

If men want their spaces to be kept single sex only too from females, that's their fight, but I doubt many are going to bother since most of them WANT females in their spaces. See: Grindr, and anywhere else. Gay men can lead their own fight to keep TIFs out of homosexual male spaces.

This is why I don't feel empathy for TIMS. Straight men kills TIMS? Don't care. Violence between men is not women's problem. They are men. They can defend themselves. Feel insecure in men's bathroom? Don't care either. Feel afraid in men's prisons? Don't care. The lives of autogynephilic, entitled and narcissist males are not my problem. 1. Women who are afraid of men in their bathroom need to STFU & deal with it, but "transwomen need women's bathrooms because they're unsafe in men's"

2. Trans people can decide to declare someone isn't actually trans and/or that's not what being trans is, but women defining why someone's post/behavior isn't gender critical or radfem are told the person is 100% GC/radfem no matter what even obvi trolls

3. if you aren't trans you can't speak for them or about their experiences, but they can speak for women and about exclusively female experiences

4. TiP can make any claim, say anything, and it's automatically the truth despite no evidence and if you ask for proof you're told to "educate yourself", but women who make a claim about something have to provide tons of proof & evidence to be told anyway that it's somehow fake and trans ppl never have to educate themselves on what GC or Radfem actually means/believes

5. transwomen deserve to have the opportunity to participate in women's sports because men's would invalidate them and hurt their poor feelings or somehow make them "unsafe", but women have to compete with men feeling the same, get over it, and miss opportunities to sport so a man can take her spot

9. cosmetic surgery for breast implants because you want it must be covered for transwoman so they don't experience "mental distress" and "affirm their identity" + it is "essentialal/life saving" but women experiencing pain every day of her life due to large breasts can't have reduction covered or performed or even get a referral because it's cosmetic surgery

Why being Minority is considered virtuous ?
Look at TiMs in women's sports. They always cry they are being targeted despite being a minority. Why does being Minority warrants a free pass ?

Same thing happens with religious minorities who are a majority group in a lot of countries. We are supposed to turn a blind eye to their woman oppressing customs just because they are a minority here. That's it, that's the only justification.

Everyone can be a minority if you draw enough lines. Even among ethnic minorities, you could draw more likes based on their income levels.

Trans are a minority so they must get special privileges to abuse women at their leisure.

Detrans people are a minority of a minority, so they should get extra extra special treatment, right? WRONG for some reason they get treated basically as badly as us TERFs. Probably because they're mostly women, but also because the religious zealot hates the apostate MUCH more than the infidel.

Also Jewish people are a minority, especially compared to the billions of muslims, but they're almost as hated as women are. Obviously Jewish women get the brunt of it.

Also minorities that don't behave in woke approved manner, like Asian people who despite discrimination perform often better than whites in the USA, lose their minority status and become "white adjacent".

Add on to that with the fact that people love labels. They want to be special, and a minority label can be seen to attention seekers as a “more important” label, since it allows them to be part of a special, small group that’s “inherently good” and deserves more for being so small and oppressed.

Edit: I should say that I don’t think all minority labels are inherently bad, in case it came off with that when I re-read it. Some do genuinely bring up injustices that should be changed, but in cases like TIMs it’s a total play for “special points”
