VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - The Vatican's second-highest ranking doctrinal official on Monday forcefully branded homosexual marriage an evil and denounced abortion and euthanasia as forms of "terrorism with a human face".

The attack by Archbishop Angelo Amato, secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, was the latest in a string of speeches made by either Pope Benedict or other Vatican officials as Italy considers giving more rights to gays.

In an address to chaplains, Amato said newspapers and television bulletins often seemed like "a perverse film about evil". He denounced "evils that remain almost invisible" because the media presented them as "expression of human progress".

He listed these as abortion clinics, which he called "slaughterhouses of human beings", euthanasia, and "parliaments of so-called civilized nations where laws contrary to the nature of the human being are being promulgated, such as the approval of marriage between people of the same sex ..."

Amato spoke at a time when the Vatican and Italy's powerful Roman Catholic Church are at loggerheads over plans for a highly controversial law that would give unmarried heterosexual and homosexual couples some form of legal recognition.

The Church and Catholic politicians, even some in Prime Minister Romano Prodi's centre-left coalition, see the proposed law as a Trojan Horse and say it could lead to gay marriages.

Amato, who is said to be very close to Pope Benedict, criticized the media's coverage of ethical issues.

I am against homosexuality as a deathstyle, and it is because I care about the PEOPLE who are trapped in that deathstyle. You just don't get it. You have been brainwashed to think that Christians hate people who are not like them. That is completely wrong. We have compassion for them and we try to help them. I try to witness to my friends so that they can get out of the deathstyle known as homosexuality. People like you oppress homosexual people.

Think about it. Which side tells gay people that they cannot make the choice to change, and that they have no power to change what they were born as? Your side. The families of those killed in the Virginia Tech massacre may not be able to grieve in peace at the funerals of those they lost. An anti-gay religious group known for protesting at the funerals of American soldiers killed in Iraq is planning on appearing at services for those killed on Monday as well.

The Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), which is not affiliated with any national Baptist organization, announced plans to protest at victims’ funerals only hours after 32 people were killed in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. They also may protest at other events on the Virginia Tech campus.

The organization, founded and led by Fred Phelps, believes the United States has condemned itself to destruction by accepting homosexuality and other “sins of the flesh.” Phelps’ daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, said the Virginia Tech teachers and students who died on Monday brought their fate upon themselves by not being true Christians.

The Gay claims to pray and get endorsement. There are not two correct answers. Therefore we must conclude it is prayer to a different god that causes the answers to be different than Jesus (the Word that became flses and dwelt among us) tells us.

Pray to the Lord Jesus Christ, root and offspring of David and you will get the same answers every time. Pray to a pagan humanist deity and he will tell you what will give you pleasure.

It is not natural. An anus is not meant for sex, it is for defecating bodily waste. Don't use the "animals do it too" logic either unless you want to lower yourself to the same reasoning ability of an animal. Animals also like incest, so does that make incest normal natural behaviour?

There does exist true and false, right and wrong.
Yet how do we know which is which?
Humans disagree, societies disagree, even religions disagree. Is there any solid way of knowing true from false or right from wrong?

God and God alone determines true from false and right from wrong.
As He loves us, so He reveals true from false and right from wrong to us.
Yet many maintain that there is no such revelation, and so they argue over true and false, right and wrong, based on their thoughts, beliefs, opinions, feelings and those of other humans. In essence, many will maintain that the basis of and or only way of knowing true from false and right from wrong is the 'self'

As Christians we do not abide in our 'selves', nor follow our 'selves', nor determine true from false or right from wrong by our 'selves'.

Jesus Christ is the One in whom we abide and not another, even our 'selves'. He is the revelation of truth and righteousness.
So why do some Christians say "God has revealed homosexual acts are immoral", while others say "We, our 'selves', believe it is not immoral"? Which 'side' has its moral basis in God's revelation and which 'side' has its moral basis in the 'self'?

I tell you no church has ever blessed homosexual relationships through God's word but only by following popular opinion based on majority vote.

CHURCH leaders want Sir Elton John banned from Tobago - in case he turns the locals gay.

He is due to headline the Plymouth jazz festival there next month. But Philip Isaac, the Archdeacon of Trinidad and Tobago, believes the singer could tempt the islanders into gay ways.

He said: "His visit to the island can open the country to be tempted towards pursuing his lifestyle."

AdvertisementThe Archdeacon condemned Sir Elton's marriage to David Furnish, saying it doesn't conform to "biblical teachings" because a "man should not lie with a man".

And he wants to save the star, 59. Mr Isaac said: "The artist is one of God's children and while his lifestyle is questionable he needs to be ministered unto."

Homophobic campaigners claimed that a clause in Tobago's immigration laws means homosexuals could be kept out of the country. The local radio station has been bombarded with calls opposing his visit.

One local told an island newspaper: "We have a huge problem with homosexuality in our population because, unlike our foreign counter-parts our free-up nature,,. and cannot support the conditions of this lifestyle."

But local lawyer Anand Ramlogan confirmed there is no law against sexual orientation in Tobago.

Festival organiser Anthony Maharaj said Sir Elton will take part. He said: "We should be honoured to have him.

"This is a man who was knighted by the Queen, who was highly complimented by Desmond Tutu." Sir Elton's spokesman declined to comment.

Last night, during the TalkProphecy.com radio show, I was discussing all the heat that is being applied to Marine Gen. Peter Pace to apologize for calling homosexuality immoral by likening it to adultery. As I did so, someone filed a complaint against our radio show for engaging in hate speech.

That's right, Christians! We were accused of HATE SPEECH because, I suppose, I said that General Pace shouldn't HAVE to apologize to anyone! That would be because homosexuality, whether those who practice it choose to consider it a sin or not, is DEFINITELY adultery at the very least! That would be because the God-ordained institution of marriage defines it as a union between a man and a woman and we are not to engage in sexual acts outside of marriage. When we do, it is considered adultery in the eyes of God. Adultery is a sin and, as such, immoral. Does that mean that General Pace HATES or I HATE anyone? If it does, then all those who are practicing homosexuality must hate us as well. Think about it!

If the homosexual community doesn't like my Christian views, isn't that an act of HATE using their standards as a tool of measurement? Certainly! If it is an immoral act of hate for me to call homosexuality a sin, it is likewise an immoral act of hate for them to be offended by my religious beliefs.

Those who are quickest to cry foul when someone expresses a view other than their own need to take a page out of their own playbook and be tolerant of others! Logic would dictate that this is the fair and appropriate response, but that's not how it works! Far from it!

That is a lie that the devil made up and has put into this world system that is controlled by him and his kingdom. I have to agree w/ Shaie. She is just pointing out that homasexuality is wrong in Gods eyes. Basically pointing out a basic fact of the bible. She did not call anyone out or degrade anyone. I think everyone is responisble for their actions. I relate being homosexual to the same thing as being a pedople, or an adulterer. Do people choose to be a pedophile, or an adulterer?... Or is it ingrained. I think its choice. Everyone is different. And everyone has different temptations. Homosexuality is a temptation that must be overcome also. I have gay friends. And they have NEVER shown me in the bible that being a homosexual is acceptable in Gods eyes. This is all Donnie McClurkin is saying. He believes its a choice. Like you believe its natural. I believe many demons can be transferred into children at birth, at the time of delivery from the medical staff who handles the baby. It is believed that Homosexuality imay be transferred from a homosexual person as they lay hands on the baby.

Other transference of demons through sexual abuse as a child, and so one.

Democrats have launched a new campaign to convince Congress and the American people that open homosexuality would be good for the United States' armed services. A group that assesses military preparedness says such a policy shift would seriously damage future U.S. military capabilities.

And they are using a skewed poll to support their arguments.

Forcing the military to provide an open door to those who choose the homosexual lifestyle would threaten the recruiting potential for the military.

I don't know ANY soldiers who want a homosexual sniffing around them, their barracks, or anywhere around them.

Technically the term we are speaking of is not necessary slander of a homosexual since according to some interpretation of what God states homosexuals will burn in hell fire. You could blame he for a type of bigotry since so will adulterers, those having sex outside of wedlocks, thiefs, liars, etc.

The term we are speaking of could also refure to the practice of executing homosexuals by burning them at the stake but I know capital punishment was also reserved for adulterers, thiefs, and a number of other individuals we choose not to execute now.

Countries that have a strict justice system do seem to keep crimes like homosexuality, theft, etc. in better control than we do.

Thanks for bringing out that tired old argument. You and other gay-worshipers always fall back on the erroneous belief that anyone who refuses to celebrate the diseased behavior of homosexuals is automatically motivated by "fear and hatred." I'm sure that's certainly true of some people, but I would venture that many heterosexuals are like me: Honest enough to admit that they are repulsed by deviant sexual practices because they find those practices intrinsically, innately, and empirically disgusting.

How interesting that you immediately went for the ad hominem attack rather than try to debate the issue itself. So disappointingly typical and predictable. No one could possibly think differently from you unless there was something "wrong" with them as people, right?

Since your last argument was weak, don't forget good ol' Plan B, where you insinuate that I'm only pretending to be disgusted by homosexuality because I secretly AM homosexual. That's a sure-fire winner too!

Also, since there are "too many people in this country" who think like me, what would you propose? Re-education camps? Compulsory sensitivity training? Exile? Another person might see a quite diiferent reason for a statistical correlation than was seen by the original researchers. so here goes with an upsetting alternative analysis . . .

Homosexuals moral and ethical? By their very nature, they can't be. Homosexuality is an abomination. 73% of our military want the ban lifted? That's a lie from the pit of hell that still smells of smoke. Most GI's that I know would prefer NOT to have gays & lesbians serving next to them and have to worry about getting hit on or worrying if they can be counted on when the going gets tough. Why is this question coming up? Because the homosexuals have to continually shove their sexual proclivities in our faces. If that's the way you want to live your life, fine. Shut up about it. Don't keep pushing that crap on me and my family.
