Like 10-20 years ago I was involved in LGB activism to bring about marriage equality, but I and everyone I knew doing that stuff stopped years ago. We kind of got what we wanted and moved on. All the "LGBT" groups I used to support are LGB in name only, they only work on trans issues and just keep the "LGB" in the name for clout. It functions to trick straight people who aren't keeping up on these issues to blindly support them. I agree that sexuality and trans identity are inextricably entangled for most trans people, including so-called "trans kids," but I think the relationship is perhaps a bit more complicated than what's portrayed here.
There are, at a minimum, two distinct groups of trans-identified minors. Those who display extreme gender non-conformity and gender dysphoria from early childhood have well-above-average odds of growing up to be homosexual. Boys of this sort are the classic "trans kids," the population represented by the cited studies on desistance; the findings of these studies don't necessarily extrapolate to the more recent (and far more numerous) ROGD cohort.
On the other hand, children who show no signs of gender dysphoria or extreme gender non-conformity prior to pubesence, only to suddenly identity as trans as tweens or teens, are a more heterogeneous (and heterosexual) bunch. Some of them may be struggling with internalized homophobia/lesbophobia/biphobia (although it should be noted that adolescent distress about sexuality isn't quite the same thing as prepubescent gender dyphoria). There are already training materials and "model policy" documents for the industry that say old TIMs must be allowed to share rooms and bathing facilities with women in care homes, and that any elderly women or their families who object should be seen as bigots and phobes with old-fashioned, out-of-date ideas. I feel highly distressed by the recent news, especially out of Texas, where it seems like everyone has come out of the woodwork to support hormones and surgeries on actual fucking children. They are sterilizing children, cutting off healthy body parts, and celebrities and the mainstream media celebrate this. There is no real journalism anymore, outside of a few brave outlets. It's just sickening. How can this be happening? How can so many people be okay with hurting children's minds and bodies, especially after years (fucking years) of denying that anyone was ever touching children under the age of 18. TRAs are evil. I want to believe some are just ignorant and misguided, but the people orchestrating this are pure evil. It's so wrong what they're doing. I'm not a religious person. But we're scared to speak out because of the social pressure and potential financial damage (being fired, black listed, and potentially facing insane TRAs).

I have been saying for 6 years that the left is just as susceptible to propaganda and brainwashing as the right, maybe even more so because they consider themselves to be more intelligent. When talking about trans-identified people, we should make sure
Now, there are plenty of valid reasons for people to change their first names. These range from "my past traumatizes me and I would like to symbolically start off fresh" to "I would like to honor my heritage." In cases like these, I'd probably be more than happy to oblige when dealing with people who have adopted new names.
However, if the reason for the name change is motivated by gender confusion, criminal activity, or other malicious factors, I will not honor it. The "trans" people everywhere around us are pretty much criminals, anyway, considering how they treat actual women. In instances where the "trans" name is much more familiar than the "dead" name, I can understand the motive for additional clarification if necessary, but let's try to ensure that it's clear which name is the "real" name (e.g. "Jaron (Jazz) is one of the most notorious Munchausen by Proxy victims of this trans social contagion.").
Bottom line is, if he was born Jaron but changed his identity to a "she" named Jazz, then we use "him" and "Jaron". If she was born Ellen but changed her identity to a "he" named Elliot, then we use "she" and "Ellen." End of story.
I simply cannot understand why we, as radical feminists, should be honoring their demands and rewarding them; it just fuels their delusion and if unchecked, their problem only gets more and more severe. Plus, it opens up more cans of worms: if we should use their preferred names, why shouldn't we honor their preferred pronouns too? Or their preferred sports teams, restroom choices, changing rooms, female-only schools and universities, etc.

Even adults are denied informed consent in this regard as the TRA rhetoric pretends steroids and even genital butchery is safe.
But yeah, being tall, gay, or left-handed is the same as proposing a child can consent to bodily destruction. And there are actually people who do not realize their full sexuality until they are 18 or older, or especially until their later teens. Transing kids is like making kids lock in on their sexuality at 10 by doing some sort of permanent mutilation. That'd be insane! Look at all the asexual 11-year-olds who have been groomed to state a sexuality long before they should be thinking about sex. Those services are super expensive, many cold, distant, rich parents can't be bothered to actually connect with their kids and send them off to those torture camps.
Ignorance is not a valid defense when it comes to suspending someone's civil and human rights. You also cannot get away with saying "but I thought it would help them!" because that also isn't a valid defense. Do y'all think "the shift" was intentional?
By "the shift" I mean the unidentified turning point over the last ~half-decade where transgender activism moved from 'we just want to live' 'we just want to pee' 'we just want to work', to 'we are biological women, sleep with us or you're transphobic, if you see us flashing our hard-ons in the locker room just look away bigot'. This shift has always intrigued me because I for example, as a young teen heavily entrenched in the Internet, definitely recall the earlier trans movement as being much less hostile and much more 'normative' than it is now. You also hear stories of transsexuals in the past working alongside women, ultimately acknowledging themselves as males, etc. But on the other hand, you have all these insane trans manifestos from the 70s that clearly outline their goal of replacing real women & declaring themselves superior which are kiiind of hard to ignore lmao.
As always, whenever I puzzle over these things, I like to turn to the women of Ovarit. I'm sure all of you have different experiences with transactivism, especially the older ladies here, and I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm married to a man and I do find it endlessly interesting how different our experiences of the world are. His world is so much less scary than mine and has been that way for his whole life.
I've also become more aware recently of how differently I feel when I'm out in public with him vs when I'm out in public alone. I am more vigilant and aware when I'm alone than when we are together.

I have a theory that nazis/incels transition not due to gender identity, but due to "oppression" identity. Instead of changing their external presentation to match their internal gender identity, I think they are changing their presentation to reflect how oppressed they believe they are. I would exclude Swyer, CAIS and all other males with DSDs.
Put simply, it's not simply the presence of male sex hormones/ testoterone during development that leads to the physical advantages that males have over females. The presence of female sex hormones during normal development during puberty and afterwards lead to physical disadvantages for women that CAIS males do not experiences.
For example, CAIS males have a height advantage that women do not. Estrogen causes epiphyses to fuse and so women tend to stop growing taller shortly after they reach puberty.
In addition, women develop wider hips to accommodate childbirth, but this is at the cost of an increased likelihood of injuries and a less efficient running stance. That made me start to wonder, what if it actually did? If pills could actually turn a man into a woman, how many of them would stop taking the pills when they were disappointed with the results? They'd have periods and have to deal with all of the actual negatives, and they wouldn't be the cute anime girls all the AGPs hoped to become.
But then I realized they wouldn't care. They'd all do it as a form of porn. They still do it now with those horrific open wounds meant to resemble a vagina, they'd definitely do it if pills could make the real thing. Just look at how it went with genital reconfiguration surgery: it' s too expensive, often mediocre in results and brings medical and psychological issues. So what did they do to still be able to live their fetish without the downsides? They moved the goalposts, so now they get off on forcing their presence in women' s spaces, they made sure that womanhood is not about bodies but about feelings they claim to have (so they can do the easy part of wearing make-up, dresses and shoes without permanent issues) and so on.
Taking that pill would be another fetish, if they found out that it doesn' t bring the pleasure they were expecting, they would just make sure that a pill that does is created. I don' t believe most of them actually want to be women anyway, even the ones who say that they would want to get pregnant seem to be more interested in harvesting women' s bodies and/or throwing shower parties without the nine months of pregnancy, the delivery and whatever happens after it.

Yes, technically it's easy enough to discover they have it. With the NIPT so cheap that it's come into extremely widespread use, and prenatal sonograms the norm even amongst poor people in poorer nations, fetuses whose karyotypes don't match their genitals are now being identified in the womb. Yet MP won anyways, and female athletes have been losing out ever since.

I'm not optimistic about how this will all play out. Either way it goes I think women's freedoms will be diminished: if trans ideology prevails, then women who don't want to share bathroom or spa with a man or if a women doesn't want to say TWAW, she will be told to stay home. If trans ideology is shut down, it will likely be because of conservative backlash to return society to regressive gender roles. If anything, feminism will be BLAMED for confusing young people about what's for girls and what's for boys. The right wing will say this all started because women wanted to cut their hair short and wear pants. Then there will be a right wing campaign to put women back in their place.

However, I am wary of turning into a conspiracy theorist. I think there are a lot of chancers hitching their wagon to this horse. The real losers are women, children, and also the transpeople who really do just want to pee and get on with their lives.
