A California mom accused of fatally torturing her 3-year-old daughter in a horrific family “exorcism” is asking a judge to toss the case — claiming in a twisted defense that she’s being prosecuted over her faith.

The outrageous assertion was laid out in new documents filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court earlier this month as accused killer mom Claudia Elisa Hernandez prepares to appear in front of a judge Jan. 22, more than three years after the death of her tragic daughter Arely.

The judge will consider arguments from Hernandez involving California’s Racial Justice Act — as her camp claims she and her family are entitled to a religious exemption on the basis they are Pentecostal Christians who believe in demonic possession and divine healing.

The El Salvadoran mom, now in her late 20s, was joined by her father and brother in sickly assaulting the tot because they believed she was “possessed by an evil spirit” — all because the child had woken up screaming.

“They arrived at 6:30 a.m. [Sept. 24, 2022], and over the next 12 hours, they violently pinned her down and stuck fingers down her throat to make her vomit, which they believed would help her get the spirit out,’ ” the cops wrote.

All the while, the bewildered dying little girl was repeatedly begging her torturers’ to stop — and telling her mother, “I love you,” officials have said.

Her lawyers have now filed a joint motion on behalf of Hernandez and her co-defendant brother and father arguing police and prosecutors targeted the family because of their religious beliefs and cultural background. Prosecutors are seeking 25 years to life behind bars for Arely’s accused killers.

Hernandez’s father, a pastor who immigrated from El Salvador, had previously taken part in prayer rituals meant to expel evil spirits, the document noted.

As someone who has struggled with both of those things this DISGUSTS me. It's expected from a non-believer, but the fact that there are self-identifying Christians trying to mislead younger or less experienced Christians is so predatory. That is deeply unloving and unwise.

If you don’t believe in Jesus Christ and His death for your sin and the Bible as the infallible word of God, why are you weighing in here as an authority? Why are you trying to conform the law of an eternal, infinite God to the wobbly moral standards of Western culture this past 50 or whatever years??

For those who will argue that homosexuality IS okay, please refer to 1 Timothy 1:8-11, Romans 1, Leviticus 18:22, Galatians 5:19-21, and I dunno, the fact that God put a man and a woman in the garden and said it was good. Hey guys! I recently discovered this page and Reddit in general so bare with me if I'm doing this wrong. About a week ago my parents read some texts between a friend and I on Facebook about how we don't really believe In god and the stuff in the bible, arguing starts with my parents as they come from a very religious background and were shocked to discover this about their son . I was really surprised to see my stuff packed and by the front door the next day after I came home from school. Parents wouldn't come to the door after much ringing and knocking even though I could see movement inside. my grandparents let me stay with them but hardly speak or look at me. My whole life just flipped upside down and I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know what's up with school either and that's what concerns me most. Why We Believe Jesus Rose from the Dead

If Jesus did not rise from the dead, the Christian faith is a foolish fantasy. However, if the resurrection of Christ did occur, it confirms His life, message, and atoning work. It is the basis of our hope of life beyond the grave.

Christ is alive, and the evidence is overwhelming. Here are some of the reasons we can be so sure.

1. Jesus predicted His resurrection (Matt. 16:21; Mark 9:9-10; John 2:18-22).

2. The Old Testament prophesied it (Psalm 16:10; compare Acts 2:25-31; 13:33-37).

3. The tomb was empty and the graveclothes vacant. if those who opposed Christ wished to silence His disciples, all they had to do was produce a body, but they could not (John 20:3-9).

4. Many people saw the resurrected Christ. They looked on His face, touched Him, heard His voice, and saw Him eat (Matt. 28:16-20; Luke 24:13-39; John 20:11-29; John 21:1-9; Acts 1:6-11; 1 Cor. 15:3-8).

5. The lives of the disciples were revolutionized. Though they fled and even denied Christ at the time of His arrest, they later feared no one in their proclamation of the risen Christ (Matt. 26:56, 69-75).

6. The resurrection was the central message of the early church. The church grew with an unwavering conviction that Christ had risen and was the Lord of the church (Acts 4:33; 5:30-32; Rom. 5:21).

One who seeks a religious exemption from vaccination is not seeking a religious exemption from a medical treatment but rather a religious exemption from an unsafe and ineffective religious custom. All governments that mandate vaccination violate the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment by requiring participation in a religious ritual. Unfortunately, litigants arguing for a religious exemption from vaccines are not making that claim. Typically, they limit their argument to a Freedom of Religion claim, arguing for a religious exemption from a medical treatment.

To make a successful Establishment Clause argument, it is necessary first to understand the superstitious religious origins of vaccines, their dangers, and inefficacy. The dangers and ineffectiveness of vaccines are outgrowths of the unscientific, superstitious origins of vaccines. Indeed, it can properly be said that ineffectiveness and hazards are features of vaccines. Once a litigant raises an Establishment of Religion issue, the vaccine dangers and ineffectiveness become germane. But most people do not know that vaccination is a religious ritual. And thus, they are not aware they have a valid Establishment Clause argument against vaccination.

To support the argument that vaccination is a sin that violates Romans 3:8, the Christian must be able to bring evidence proving that vaccination is evil. That evil is most clearly seen by the death and injury vaccines cause.

This isn't prosperity gospel, which says that God supernaturally punishes you with "bad luck" for not having enough faith. This is just common sense: a society that follows the 10 commandments will prosper and one that breaks them will suffer.

Liberals think poverty just "happens" to people and the solution is to redistribute resources.

However, Calvinist societies (Puritans, Afrikaners) have disproven this over and over again. East Asia was utterly destroyed in the 20th-century and they built the most advanced countries on earth. On the contrary, a population that regularly engages in violent crime and fornication will turn any successful wealthy city into a ghetto.
